Raising the Debt Ceiling

Gotta protect those wall street fat cats, right?

Translation: democrats want to go on spending like drunken sailors so we can just keep on raising the debt ceiling again and again and again and....

We absolutely need to cut spending. The democrats don't want to compromise, they figure the republicans will get the blame, so fuck it.

No, we are debating whether we should keep growing our massive "credit card debt" or start taking steps to reduce it. Big swing and a miss.

Shocker, your position is based entirely on politics. At what point should we actually start addressing the issues that got us to this massive, unsustainable level of debt? We need to cut spending in a massive way and stop stealing from future generations. Fuck all of you greedy, selfish boomer assholes.

No, my point is based purely on economics. We are NOT debating whether we should spend more. We are debating whether we pay our bills. If you didn't know that's what the debt ceiling is, then please stop posting on the topic.

If we do not raise the debt ceiling because Republicans refused to vote to do so, they will get the blame, and the country's economy will go in the tank.

Not strange at all because you will never find a thread where I supported more government spending regardless of who was in office. Go look and I will wait.

Once again you change the subject cause you have no answer. It's not a question of supporting more spending, but the failure to ever complain about the $8 trillion deficit that trump ran up. Of course if the subject was ever brought up, you would always pretend it was someone else's fault, never the man in charge of putting spending bills into law.

The Republican Party will never allow this country to default, since by doing so they would destroy our economy. How's that as a future campaign issue?

Well, they already supported an attempt to overthrow a free and fair election, so I don't think they are strategizing quite that far ahead.

You may not, but every single yo yo you ever vote to put in the Oval Office or in the Congress loves to spend.

Republican administrations ALWAYS spend like drunken sailors. They just spend on things YOU like. Like defense contractor boondoggles like the F35.

I agree. And the end result will be McCarthy no longer having the gavel. Because you know this is true, and I know this is true, but Matt Gaetz and MTG and Loren Boebert are literally so fucking stupid they have no idea what the debt ceiling is. And when McCarthy is forced to work with Democrats to avoid an economic apocalypse, they will recall him.

I'm debating that we should spend less. The Republicans are willing to support raising the debt ceiling on the condition that why try to address the unchecked rise of the federal debt. It's not complicated.

Spending less has NOTHING to do with the debt ceiling. Want to debate spending? Then do it. But don't take the country off the cliff to get your way. That's what the budget process is for. There is not even a proposal on the table, and we have now reached the debt ceiling. How much time do you want to put your proposal out there?

Yawn. Raise the fucking debt ceiling and quit dicking around with the countries future.

Really? Then how did we get into so much debt if we haven't been spending too much?

The debt ceiling has NOTHING to do with future spending. NOTHING. Again, if you don't understand that, I'd suggest you stop posting so as not to put your entire foot in your mouth.

We are in debt because we have not taxed enough.

Donald Trump hasn't been the president for over two years sugar nipples. You should seek counseling about your obsession with him.

Thats what I mean, sweetie, a complete inability to even mention trumps massive deficit. It's always easier to blame the democrats. Be assured, the GOP will never refuse to raise the debt ceiling.
