Would that be the same PETA who's Vice President, Mary Beth Sweetland, is diabetic and dependent on insulin (tested on dogs, rabbits and mice)? The same PETA whose Animal Testing page, that unambiguously states:

The same PETA whose President, Ingrid Newkirk, is only uncompromisingly opposed to animal testing until she needs modern medicine? Not too long ago she wrote of her experience with breaking her wrist"

Thank goodness for IV drips. IV drips. That would be those same intravenous anaesthetics that were tested on rats, rabbits, dogs, cats and monkeys. Apparently she’s not opposed to that animal testing. So unopposed, in fact, that she thanks "goodness" for it.

Is this the PETA we're talking about?

Let me give you a little tidbit about the population of one of the animals that hunters go after.

The whiteteail deer

In Alabama, the whitetail deer herd stands at approximately 1.5 million animals. Wildlife biologists say that about one-third of the herd should be harvested (hunted, murdered, slaughtered, you pick the word) each year to maintain a healthy stable herd.

Now unless you have a better way to remove 500,000 animals, hunting is here to stay. It maintains a healthy herd, pays its own way plus supports conservation efforts more than any other single source, and provides healthy protein in the diet of millions of people.

Safari International has donates amazing amounts of meat to soup kitchens, food banks and charities. In 2006 alone, Safari International donated more than a quarter of a million pounds of meat. This free source of low fat, preservative free, low cholesteral, protein is vital to the people who do not get regular meals and do not have access to multivitamins.


If you ban hunting you are not helping the animals, and you are hurting other wildlife and hurting many people.
 
Killing is wrong. MEAT is the dead body of a fellow member of Earths family. Killing animals is like killing people. OWNING animals is slavery.

What about cockroaches, mosquitos, lice, rats, termites and other vermin?

Do we allow them to live or kill them?

Then again, a bear can claw and chew me to death, if I don't have a gun. In all seriousness, I don't consider a cow or halibut equal to man. If you do, fine. Enjoy not eating them.
