I don't understand why the right wingers think this should even be built.
We do NOT use this type of oil for our fuel needs it is going to the gulf and processed in one of the Koch brothers refineries and shipped to china to be made into plastic for Trumps junk he sells.
The big problem was the Trans Canada pipeline company wanted to run it near some of the most important Aquifers in the country. Aquifers that supply MILLIONS of Americans with the ONLY fresh water they have to drink.
The EPA suggested they run t next to the original Keystone pipeline and it would be okay but no they wanted to run it near those important Aquifers.
And with their safety record and record for having a higher number of leaks then normal the EPA was right not to give them permits to build it.
And if it is SOOOOOOOO important that China gets this oil let Canada run a pipeline to their west coast and let them take the chance that that pipeline doesn't spring a massive leak and destroy some of their land and water supply.
Steal American's land so Canadian oil can be sold to China... Hmmm...
Demand a pipeline be built and still threaten to tax the pipeline out of use... Hmmm....

No, Walter, he wants to build more pipelines.
The Keystone XL Pipeline would import oil from Canada, for either export to China, or use in the USA. Either way, it would not be built while trump is threatening tariffs against importing oil from Canada.

We do NOT use tar sand oil for our fuel needs ( gas ) , we already have enough pipelines that transport tar sand oil to places that make plastics, so why would we need one to transport Tar sand oil to the gulf and put on ships to be sent to China?
And If I remember right there have been well over 22 oil, and NG pipelines built since The XL pipeline was shut down.
Here is a search I did showing the number of pipelines being built.

The Keystone XL pipeline will carry Tar sand oil from Canada to the Gulf to be put on tankers and shipped to China to make plastics.
We already have the Keystone pipeline delivering tar sand oil to our factories that use it , we do NOT use it for any type of fuel / gas for our autos.
The ( I believe the name of the pipeline company is ) Trans Canada pipeline company has one of the worst safety records ever and is know to have many many leaks in their pipelines.
If they had just done what the EPA asked them to do years ago and had run the XL pipeline next to their Keystone pipeline this would have been built years ago, but no they want to run it near/ over some of our most important aquifers , Aquifers thhat supply millions of Americans with the only fresh water they have.
It sure looks like Trump and his MAGA followers are more concerned with China getting this dirty oil to make their plastics then Americans having fresh drinking water.

NO but putting it even near one of Americas important aquifers should NOT be an option with the pipeline companies record for having so many leaks in their pipelines.
Americans drinking water is a LOT more important the China getting Tar sand oil to make plastics.
Beside ASSHOLE They have started building a pipeline in Canada that will run to their west coast and they will ship their dirty oil to China so don't worry Trump will have enough plastic to make his junk he sells.
And seeing they are already building a new pipeline the pipeline company more then likely won't be building one here and wasting their money.
