Since all of these school shooters and mass murderers like Gendron have an endgame of suicide, a dysfunctional mental healthcare system seems to be the main problem.

As noted below, there are 2.5 times as many suicides as murders in the US. The Democrats only care about the gun suicides and not the ~25K Americans who kill themselves every year using neck ties, pills or other non-firearm means.

When Democrats say "Ban the carnage", it only applies to those using a firearm. No one gives a shit about the other needless deaths.

When Australia limited gun ownership, it became a natural study in whether that would reduce suicides. It turns out that half the people who would have committed suicide with guns found another way to commit suicide, and the other half did not commit suicide. Not having a gun available gave them time to think things through, and realize suicide was not the solution.

Beyond that, we now have laws in many states gagging doctors from talking to patients about guns, and preventing taking guns away from people who have mental problems. These are practically calculated to help people commit suicide with guns.

Canada has far more people hunting per capita than the USA. They have the guns for this. They have whole communities where everyone has to carry a gun to protect themselves from polar bears. They also have reasonable gun regulations.

Link to the specifics of these gag laws? Off hand, that's nuts to tie a doctor's hands in helping a patient in need. As for removing guns from the mentally ill, I'm fine with that as long as there's a sound means of return or compensation if the removal is long-term. Democrats are fast to ban but slow to return.

True, but the fact remains the Democratic party almost exclusively focuses on banning guns and only gives lip service to better mental health care.

An example are the standard Democratic efforts to "fix" the school shooter problem. The focus is on banning guns, not saving the thousands of kids with mental health issues, teen suicides and teen substance abuse. Fuck them because they don't vote? LOL

I like that in your first paragraph the important fact is there. Many of those who didn't have access to a gun continued to live. Don't bury the lead.
