but he does offer new ideas. Like deporting criminal illegals, and locking them up if they return and commit a felony.

Face it, if Hillary focused on the issues she'd be losing this campaign. Every time Trump does manage to stay off Twitter or keep from being baited, he catches up with her because Trump is stronger on actual issues instead of the Jerry Springer stuff.

Hillary's a career politician so you expect her to grasp the issues. But grasping issues is just part of: there's judgement, like when to act, when not to act and how to act.
And based on her mile long record as a politician, she sucks in that regard. The only she has done well is milk the system.
Hillary's wealth she's accumulated at the public's expense is a hill of beans compared to Trump's billions.
She has demonstrated time and again she does not understand anything. It's why she has no record to run on.
Her voters would vote for a log if it had a D painted on it.

I mean this notion that anyone could actually win a VP debate is just one of the lamest and dumbest notions going around.
There is only one of two things a Veep candidate can do in a debate. They do not win or lose. They can only demonstrate that;
A. They are qualified to be POTUS if something were to happen to POTUS or,
B. They are not qualified to be POTUS.
In my adult life time every VP candidate except two demonstrated to the American public that they were qualified to be POTUS if something were to happen to POTUS.
The only two who proved they were not qualified to be POTUS were, Admiral James Stockdale and Sarah Palin.
So in other words the only important metric in the VP debate was did either VP candidate cross the threshold to convince the American public that they are qualified to be POTUS if something were to happen to POTUS? The answer is "yes" they both did.
Ergo both candidates won last nights debate in the only criteria which mattered. Winning on style doesn't mean squat in a VP debate. That's just the silliest notion ever.

Um... you are half right. And when you're that dominate it does more that decide who goes to state funerals. TI'm was horrible and is getting reamed by ordinarily friendly fact checkers.

I'm 100% right. No one is going to vote for Trump based on Pence debate performance. If either candidate had performed as poorly as Palin did than they can hurt their candidate but it's not decisive.
Palin, as horribly as she performed, hurt McCain,mad she came off as utterly unqualified to the majority of Americans and that did raise concerns about McCains judgement but it didn't really move the needle. Neither did last night.
