Pence won on style.

she needed to do something unexpected to shut them up

standing in front of them would have done it

"Moderation is about herding the cats. Not easy but not impossible." #80

"I would have stood up and walked over to them and told them to act like adults" #78
OK #78. True enough. She could have.

BUT !!

I believe if she had, there's be more complaints / criticisms against her today than there are. I don't disagree with you. She could have. She made the judgement call, and there's plenty of Kaine / Pence substance to comment on. Quibbling about the moderator is pointless. She won't be on November's ballot.
"She failed."
That's a two-sided coin.

"She succeeded."

OK
Your turn.

Maybe we're safer in some arcane statistical sense [I mean what are odds of being shot by a thug or beheaded by an Islamic terrorist?] but there's no denying that cities are burning, cops are being assassinated, ISIS sympathetizers walk amongst us, the Middle East is in turmoil and etc.

They lose on virtually every issue, so they bait Trump into saying something stupid---because it's the only tool in the shed. Hillary supporters can be happy to be ahead in the polls but they can't be proud of what it takes to be there
^ outstanding! Post of the election season. *clap*

There is nothing venerable about the Clintons.
Sleezy grifters who skate along the edge of the law with shitty campaigns lacking gravitas.
Kaine was the personification of Clinton Land.

And all this without her shitty record as Sec of State. *barf*

Pence debunked the supposed love affair between Trump and Putin with this gem:

MODERATOR: Trump has said: "Putin has no respect for Hillary Clinton and no respect for Obama." Why do you think he will respect a Trump-Pence administration? Why the you think he will respect a trump-pence administration?

MIKE PENCE: Strength. Plain and simple... Donald Trump is a strong leader... We are going to rebuild our military. This whole Putin thing, look, America is stronger than Russia. Our economy is 16 times larger than the Russian economy. Our political system is superior to the crony corrupt capitalis system in Russia it every way.

When Donald Trump and I observed, as I said, in Syria and Iran and Ukraine that the small and bullying leader of Russia has been stronger on the world stage than this administration, that is stating painful facts. That is not an endorsement of Putin. That is an indictment of the weak and feckless leadership of President Obama and Hillary Clinton.
________________

That's the way you win a debate. Instead of playing on Twitter Trump should have been taking notes.
the Clintonistas will muddle it up, but the facts are Putin is a far better leader on the world stage -completely outplaying Obama/Clinton despite a weak economy, and a lessor military.
Maybe that came thru at least.

you are running a TV reality star with a wife with naked pics

he has a personality disorder

Do you have any idea how far the Russian ruble has fallen since Putin invaded Crimea?
Do you have any idea how destabilizing it's been to Western Europe, how Putin has complicated the refugee crisis (called the worst since WWII) by supporting the ruthless dictator Assad?

Under Putin's leadership, the Russian economy has tanked.

Check out how the U.S. economy is doing under Obama:
“... Reince Priebus, the Republican National Chairman today said that 300K jobs ... aught to be expected every month ... and just a historical perspective:
- during the 8 years of President Bush (younger) there were 2.1 million net jobs created in the United States. Of the 2.1 million, 1.8 million of them were in the public sector ... that means there were 300,000 jobs in the private sector in 8 months, in 8 years rather, net ...
more jobs have been created in the United States in the last 4 years than in Europe, Japan, all the industrialized modern world combined. ...
70 years since WWII. 36 years of Republican presidents, 34 years of Democratic presidents. In those 70 years, there were 36.7 million jobs created under Republican presidents ... a little over half the time. In 34 years there were 63.7 million created by Democrats. That's 29 million more. You know, perhaps it's an accident once, or twice or what. But I mean at some point the Democrats ought to be comfort in the fact that they have been better the economy and job creation than have been the opposition.
...
It's 15 years since we've had 10 consecutive months of over 200,000 [job growth]. Just 15 years ago there was a fella from Arkansas ... there were more jobs created in Bill Clinton's 8 years than there were in Ronald Reagan's 8 years, and the 12 years of both Bush's combined. I mean 6 million more jobs created in those 8 years, ... policy does kick in, & is reflected in the results.” Mark Shields
With those facts in mind, you think Putin is the "better" leader? He's been kicked out of the G8! It's the G7 again! Western leaders cold-shoulder the man.

It's not the only tool in the shed, just the best one. She has the equivalent of a 5-in-one painter's tool. She can scrape him, gouge him, pull his chain, cut him apart and paste the pieces back together.

Instead of blaming Hillary for baiting Trump you should be criticizing him for rising to the bait, every single time. The man has zero self-control. He melts down over insults about his own actions and words. His is not the type of personality America needs in a leader. We need someone who remains calm under pressure and doesn't allow himself to be goaded by words. Because as Obama can tell you, the president is going to be criticized every single day of his term.

Trump is unable to take the high road. His only roads are low and lower.

Rusia is a "glorified gas station" (McCain). Have you noticed gas is so cheap they practically give it away to get you to come in and buy a cup of coffee?
Both Saudi Arabia & Russia are extractive economies -and both are in bad shape.
Russia has the sanctions also -but the main culprit is they are not generating revenue, because of energy prices.

Why do you think Putin took over Crimea? Could it be western meddling in the Ukrainian elections -
coupled with NATO expansion started under Bill Clinton?
He has to have secure access to Sevastopol.

The Obama comes in and offers a meaningless Russian rest after Obama is knocked back on his heels -
but the reset offered NOTHING for Putin to accept.

It was the status quo. This was supposedly Hilary's big play ,but she clearly doesn't understand realpolitik
or she would have offered Putin something besides a plastic button!

As to Syria. It's a Russian client state. When Obama saw he was gonna get marginalized by Putin -what did he do but throw a hissy fit
and call out Russia for entering a "quagmire" ( like Vietnam was a US quagmire)..
So who's calling the shots in Syria now? It's so bad Kerry is reduced to name calling -we have nothing to offer in Syria.

And please don't mention "no Fly's" with an active Russian airforce, unless you wanna get drug into war.

Without Googling....his claim about the Clinton foundation only using 10% of their money for charity was a whopper.

'We are less safe today than we were 8 years ago.' That's nonsense.

His claims about a failed economy fly in the face of record Dow numbers. Now, we can argue the merits of using Wall St figures as a fair representation of the real economy, just as we can argue 'real' unemployment figures. But those are the factors that have historically been used to measure the economy.
His claim about tax cuts increasing revenue have long since been debunked. It doesn't matter how many times that lie gets repeated.

I haven't even seen the entire debate yet. From what I saw, he lied every time he opened his mouth.

Let me add:

Pence argued that "Iraq has been overrun by ISIS." Verdict: False. While parts of Iraq have been ravaged by ISIS, Pence drastically inflates the group's control over the country.

Pence: "Hillary Clinton failed to renegotiate a status of forces agreement." Pence is wrong to suggest Clinton is to blame. The key decisions and discussions took place between the White House itself and Iraqi leaders. We rated this claim Mostly False.

Pence: "They want to expand (Obamacare) into a single-payer program." Clinton and Kaine have proposed a public option — a government-sponsored insurance plan — but they have not proposed single-payer. Pence’s claim is Mostly False.

Pence: "We delivered $400 million in cash as a ransom payment for Americans held by the radical mullahs in Tehran.
The United States owed Iran the money as part of a decades-long financial dispute. This "ransom" line, which we’ve previously heard from Trump, is Mostly False.

Pence said “that’s nonsense” after Kaine claimed Trump was proposing a “deportation force” to “go house to house” and send away millions of immigrants who are here illegally.
Trump did say that, although he has since backed away from it. Actually, Trump...said last November in an interview on MSNBC, “You’re going to have a deportation force, and you’re going to do it humanely.”

Pence implied Clinton was wrong when she cited the fatal shooting of an African-American man by an African-American cop as a case of “implicit,” or unconscious, bias. But research shows African Americans are not immune to this form of bias against members of their own racial group. Pence was wrong when he implied that African Americans can’t be subject to implicit bias of other African Americans.

Pence said, “The Trump Foundation is a private family foundation and they give virtually every cent to charitable causes.” But that’s far from true. There have been several examples of the Donald J. Trump Foundation making expenditures on items and groups that are not charitable causes. And unlike typical family foundations, the Trump Foundation’s money has since 2008 come from others, not from Trump’s own pocket. The Washington Post reported Sept. 10: “In tax records, the last gift from Trump was in 2008. Since then, all of the donations have been other people’s money — an arrangement that experts say is almost unheard of for a family foundation.”

Pence criticized Clinton for supporting “a practice like partial-birth abortion,” adding that “the very idea that a child that is almost born into the world could still have their life taken from them is just anathema to me. ” As we have written before, Clinton has said she’s “open” to restrictions on late-term abortions if there are exceptions for endangerment of the life and health of the mother.
