The left position on national security is defend our borders, save our troops from dying needlessly, restore American stature and influence, and stop fighting wars for corporations.

That is not a loser when articulated in dollars and cents and TRUTH.

Maybe the D convention is OVER and now all the focus has been on Palin. Palin this, Palin that... if everyone would just shut up about Palin, she wouldn't be energizing the Republicans right now.

It should have been easy and a landslide because democrats had everything .. I mean EVERYTHING going for them. Bush, failed and unsupported war, failed economy, lost global American power and stature .. among about a thousand other reasons that all stood in their favor .. including the fact that they are running against a fossil who may not live through his 1st term and who has run 3 times for the office .. who claims to know nothing about the most important issue in the country and who just selected a neophyte goosestepper from Alaska who the thought of her being president should terrify anyone with half a brain.

With all democrats had going for them they actually SOUGHT OUT failure. They had to look for it and they found it in the EXACT same place they always find it.

I do not believe Obama will win. He is a soft pussified weakilng and the republicans will keep on swinging for homeruns while Obamites play genteel politics and get their asses wiped out again.

I have a different take – palin has energized exactly nobody other than a few thousand fanatics at the convention, which by the way, didn’t fill up even during her red meat speech. And she's scared a whole lot of libs, dems, etc, becasue they are buying the conventional wisdom the msm, repeating everything they are told by the mccain campaign, is selling.

Give it a couple of weeks ok? Let’s see who’s right.

Well, I disagree, I think he's running an excellent, smart campaign, and I believe the r's knew it and this pushed them into the panic pick of palin, which I believe will implode.

And really, no reason for us to argue, because we'll know in exactly 2 months who is right. For the sake of our planet, let's hope i am.

Obama said as much during the primaries and it got great traction .. enough traction to propel his weak ass into the nomination.

He said it when he talked about "dealing with the mindset that sent us into Iraq."

Then he abandoned it.

If the vote was held today, it would be 50/50. It should not even be close with the way Obama had everyone energized and ready for 'change'. The focus has shifted from Obama's awesome speech a week ago, to Sarah Palin. I don't pay attention to the news, and most people don't because its full of bullshit. The MSM can kiss my ass for all I care. I'm playing Wii with my daughter tonight. I'm watching the Browns game Sunday, and might even mow my lawn tommorow night. Saturday night, well, I'm gonna be drunk. Most people have shit to do and ignore politics. I'm just saying. The person who is going to win is the person with the most energy behind them.

This man has been a Senator for a couple of years, and was a Community Organizer before that. He has no executive experience, or foreign policy experience, and hasn't really 'worked' a day in his life. At least Palin was commander in chief of a state militia and governor of a state. So if it "terrifies" half your brain to have Palin preside over the Senate, it should be unfathomable to elect Obama leader of the free world.

You described my sister to a T. She's smart, educated and follows politics a little bit but is by no means a political junkie or an ideologue. She is the ultimate 'independent'.

We who are this into politics and argue and discuss political details that probably 99% of the country don't know or care about are definitely not the majority.
