coakley represent the arrogance of the current dem party. hopefully this is wake up call to them or they will find themselves in same situation this fall.

actually, if this ends up with Brown winning, I agree. It may actually help the Dems in the long run... especially if it kills the unpopular health care bill. That may save seats in November.

I totally shocked that a Republican would say that. You know what would happen if Obama moved to the center? The Republicans would give him the finger, he'd still get nothing done and the Democratic base would be all that more pissed off.

Newsflash: Republican strategists don't have the best interests of Obama and the Democrats in mind when they offer their advice.

Yeah, and not having passed the bill and getting attacked for it anyway is so much better. The Dems swept 1994, thanks to letting that NUTS (IE ridiculously moderate bill that would've lowered costs and covered everyone) thing falter.

The bill is closer to what the Blue Dogs wanted than the house bill anyway. They'll lose some Stupak idiots and pick up some Blue Dogs. Pelosi can pass it. It'll probably pass my 50% + 1.

Well that's what's going to happen if Coakley loses. The Mass State Legislature will drag their feet long enough for the House Dems in DC to approve the Senate version before they certify the results. Repubs will cry fowl and everyone will roll their eyes knowing the Repubs would do the same damned thing if the tables were turned.

The house dragging it's feet till the last minute like this is Fuckin political incompetence by the Dems but that's nothing new.

The supreme fucking irony is that Ted Kennedy undermined his own legacy on health care by dying. Aint that a bitch? LOL
