Obama's brownie moment: Geithner to Remain as Treasury Chief

I wasn't talking about T-bills. I was speaking as to how they set rates that are paid between the banks. Are you saying that they do not raise or lower rates to control inflation or to stimulate the economy? Or are you saying that the only way we create debt is with Treasury notes?

I was talking about Treasury Notes and you were commenting on my assessment. Nice try.

Ah, yes. I remember you were arguing that the rates we paid for credit was a sign that our credit is currently better regardless of our lower credit rating. It's a stupid argument.

I answered Yurt, not you. Although I did provide an example. In the 70s somebody with perfect credit was paying 14% on their mortgage, somebody with bad credit now pays less, that doesn't mean their credit is "better" just that the rates set by the FED to control inflation are lower...

SF explained why the rates were so low, playing with Quantitative Easing. I didn't need to simply repeat that. I was simply trying to explain how comparing the current rates as a sign of credit score was stupid.

I'm thinking she's talking about currently with QE1 and QE2, attempting a QE3, and advising that endless debt is a way to end the downward spiral we're finding at the culmination of the global debt crisis.

dude, onceler doesn't even know what you're talking about.

Bush hired someone who was completely unqualified for his job. Obama hired one of the best economic minds on the Dem side.
Thats the sad part.....he is one of the best economic minds on the Dem side....and totally incompetent....can't even do his own taxes let alone manage the US economy.....

The crash of 2007/2009 is long over....and Bush is long gone and doesn't have any say over policy........it the Obama economy, and it sucks worse than any economy in recent history.....

Thats just reality, fact, and now history.....

I adore the lengths that you'll go to in order to absolve Bush of any responsibility.

How much do you love that guy?

Hyperbole is the refuge of the mentally weak.

My statement about Geithner is true.

Hyperbole ?.....the man could not do his own taxes....don't you grasp that fact....

Can you do yours ?.....I've done mine for over 40 years with no problems at all, none, nada....

Geithner is a moron, and hes the best ya got.....??????????????

That's a pretty silly argument; I'd call it the 2nd last refuge of the mentally weak.

He also understands that there are things called "loopholes," btw...

No, not at all - your love of Bush is abundantly clear, and always has been. One of the worst Presidents in history, btw....

That's nice, but Bush isn't the man in charge. The man is charge is failing big time. He's clearly in over his head and people are losing their confidence. Something is terribly wrong and blaming Bush isn't going to fix it.

Good thing I'm not in charge of fixing it, then. I don't have anything to do with fixing it. I'm posting on an internet message board.

So, I can blame Bush all I want.

If that is true, then this country is seriously fucked if we let the Dems keep leading. Geithner is a moron.

I disagree that he's a moron, but it is kind of true. The people in line after him are not better. Calls for him to resign are politically charged, but aren't logical. If the GOP doesn't agree w/ what he's doing philisophically, they need to make sure to win in '12.

It is certainly relative. That said, do describe what you think Geithner has done that has been correct.

You can't even make your evasions look good....if you can't reply to the facts, don't reply at all....

You have an opinion ...I have mine...

Its even a stretch to call Geithner an economist imo....
