Tort reform is a red herring.
It is nothing but a gift to the greedy,
while giving a green light to further abuse of the system
by taking away the stick and leaving only the carrot.

Lowering malpractice insurance and thereby lowering the cost of health care in not a "gift to the greedy". If those who bring frivilous lawsuits had to pay the court costs if they lost there would be less cost for everyone. Dip shit.

They would just make more profit and victims of malpractice
would have no recourse.

And you think that when the government is completely in charge of this, they will continue to allow unlimited malpractice lawsuits?

Let me clue you in, when the government has to be responsible for paying the claims, instead of an insurance company... you better believe there will be laws made to protect the government from frivolous lawsuits. You just shot your golden goose in the head, and you don't even know it!

Social security, long term debt, reform health care....has Matthews been under a rock the last two years? What does he think all the clamor is about ObamaCare? Obama accomplished what Presidents have been trying to do for generations! Rather than grandstand about plans that will never see the light of day Obama focuses on one thing and gets it done.

Matthews talks about meetings and White House dinners till midnight and wonders why Obama is not doing that. Then he answers his own question. "He doesn't like their company." Can we blame Obama?

Its a stupid American thing. We demand that our presidents stop to give us pep talks and pretty speeches, or else they must not be doing their job right. People always obsess over Reagan and FDR for their uplifting speeches. Personally, I like Obama's speeches because they are straight-forward and not full of pansy-assed emotion.

Back in 1863, Lincoln actually pissed-off the crowd and the critics when he delivered his Gettysburg Address. Perhaps its because people came to hear some grand memorial of the troops who had faught, but I wonder if its because he didn't throw them a pep-rally and beat his chest.

I told you why? It was just a tactic to delay serious talks. That's also the reason the Repubs were locked out. They didn't want to co-operate. They are against government medical so what input would they offer?

I thought you'd understand the analogy I gave about vacations but I assumed too much from you so let me spell it out. If a family is discussing vacations and one member does not want to go on vacation anywhere what input would they offer? They'd just be a negative influence on everyone else. So the only alternative is to get them out of the room. The negativity and bullshit over medical care had gone on long enough. The Dems put their foot down. The Repubs have no one to blame but themselves.
