No, you don't understand how the oil industry works. Oil production on private and state lands grew. Federal production went down due to Obama doing all that he could to hinder production.

Production increased exponentially during the Obama years. Oil companies don't like to drill on Federal lands.. never have because there have always been more stringent environmental regulations and more paperwork. But, you are simply wrong.. oil companies have held options on thousands of Federal oil leases and thousands more have ALWAYS been available.

Obama placed a moratorium on drilling at depths of more than 500 feet because of Deepwater Horizon and because BP made a mockery of the safety audits required.

As for Keystone.. It's still on hold because they have failed to complete the environmental studies..

We've had over 90 pipeline breaks in the US this year and there is no excuse for that. Christ, Saudi ARAMCO monitors all their pipelines for flow rate and pressure from a single location and they NEVER have pipeline breaks.

Oil companies don't drill on private land either when the ppb is $40. Federal regs on oil production on Federal land haven't been changed in decades.. What makes you think Obama changed them?
