Obama Touts Climate Change Legacy, Then Takes Credit For US Oil Boom

U.S. oil production nearly doubled between 2009, when Obama took office, to 2016. Natural gas production shot up around 50 percent in that time. However, the boom in production almost exclusively took place on state and private lands where the Obama administration had little to no control.

Republicans criticized Obama for lagging oil and gas production on federally-managed lands, which largely stagnated while production elsewhere boomed due to hydraulic fracturing and horizontal drilling.

Kind of like the economy Obama spent eight years crippling into stagnation and then tried to claim credit for the moment someone else came along and reversed his time-disproven policies (with job-creators directly citing which Trump policies caused them to start hiring en masse, and with no one able to point to a single policy of Obama's that did anything but destroy jobs).

Economists Agree Trump, Not Obama, Gets Credit For the Economy

The 'Trump Bump' in the stock market is real

Go home, Obama. It's just embarrassing at this point.

This is funny.. Your authors don't seem to know anything at ll about the oil business. Domestic production grew under Obama so we had the highest rig count we 'd had in the US since 1970. It was driven by $100 per barrel prices.

Let me guess. You're going to claim to be an expert about the oil business now?

Your point was addressed in the post you're responding to (learn how to read).

That was in spite of Obama, not due to him. Obama cut oil leases on federal lands. Production increases were on private lands. But you already knew that.

That's idiotic.. Obama doesn't control WHERE oil companies drill.. LOLOL No president controls where or IF an oil company invests in production .. The driving force was the high ppb.. Kids were choosing petroleum engineering in record numbers at university ..

Trump doesn't understand either.. He wants the ppb below $40.. If he is successful, domestic producers will be going belly up.

Nope, you are wrong again.. Oil companies have always had options on federal land oil leases.. and there were 4-6,000 available during the Bush and Obama years.

The ONLY reason for increased production was high oil prices.. not your drivel about federal versus private lands.

You crybabies have ...

The House
The Senate
The SCOTUS
The Presidency

... for two years, STOP your Whining and Bitching about Obama

Is that why a federal judge held him in contempt for lawlessly disregarding his orders and continuing to arbitrarily, tyrannically shut down drilling on federal land...because "Obama doesn't control WHERE oil companies drill?"

Way to do your homework. LOL

Russia and KSA are cutting production by 1.5 million bpd.. Nigerian, Venezeulan, Algerian and Libyan production is all down.. Iran is under sanctions. US producers are working like mad and only limited by bottlenecks in logistics of getting it to refineries.

Trump is demanding everybody including OPEC pump more oil..

Interesting times.

You don't know what you are talking about.. and you don't have a clue WHY they stopped production in the Gulf. Post the case and I will explain it to you.
