No more Kneeling for NFL

Are you equating hate crimes and their symbols with our nation's flag and symbols?

No. I'm confident that some lefties think our nation's flag is a hate symbol.

FTR I never said hate symbols should be criminalized.

You said this:

Demanding that citizens act a certain way toward political symbols is authoritarian.

Legislation that would criminalize political symbols has been proposed and endorsed by leftists.

Are you refusing to march in liberal lock-step?

When citizens are forced to by government it is. Employers can demand specific conduct from their employees while on the job. There's nothing authoritarian about it.

The NFL told players not to wear pink symbols after Breast Cancer Awareness month. I say fair enough. I don't agree with the NFL telling players they can't protest government without a penalty. And that doesn't mean just money but forcing them to stay in the locker room.

This is an authoritarian statement. It's outrageous. "You have to stand proudly for the National Anthem or you shouldn't be playing. You shouldn't be there. Maybe you shouldn't be in the country," Trump said.

Seriously, why do people care about this?

It's a protest. Dissent is patriotic. If you care about this, but think Trump is right to relentlessly discredit the FBI, others in our intel community, the State Dept. and the media, you're somewhat hypocritical.

That's very disrespectful and sad.... But, then, you're a Steeler's fan, aren't you? So I'm not too surprised....;)
(We Always stand for the anthem (and the alma mater:)...we also sing....heck... We play the anthem at our swim meets... Everyone stands....if they don't, we ask that they do. And they do...our athletes love the tradition)

Does your dig at Steelers fans apply to the one in your house also? Hope so, given your constant comments about two sets of rules.

You have every right to stand, put your hand on your heart, sing along, whatever. You don't have the right to tell others what they must do.

Well, no..He knows enough to stand:) There are Steeler fans, and then, there are STEELER fans...I'm sure you know what I mean...
We don't force anyone to stand, put their hand on their heart or sing. We might suggest it if they don't. What's wrong with that? What's wrong with displaying patriotism?
(However, if you employ someone, is it wrong to have rules? Generally if you don't follow the rules set by your employer, you lose your job... But, all will be fine...some will kneel, the fine will be paid and they'll be in the minority...only 12-15% every took a knee anyway...)

Two sets of rules, got it. There's nothing wrong with displaying patriotism. There's plenty wrong with demanding that patriotism be displayed a certain way.

One of the many things that annoys me about cons is their insistence that only they are patriotic. Because for those people it's all superficial.

It's my pleasure to gloa-, er, help you out. A thank you is not required. ;)

WASHINGTON — Secretary of State Mike Pompeo acknowledged — after prodding by lawmakers — that he backs the finding by U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia meddled in the U.S. presidential campaign to hurt Hillary Clinton and ultimately help Donald Mr. Trump...

For his part, Mr. Pompeo told the Foreign Affairs panel that the administration will take “appropriate countermeasures” to fight what he called “continued efforts” by Russia to meddle in November’s vote. He did not elaborate on the Russian interference or say what the countermeasures would be....
