NFL Players Kneel, Raise Fists During National Anthem in Preseason Games

I think that everyone would like to see them try something else.
Standing up for social injustice is fine...so kneeling or sitting was kind of out of the question from the get go...
But from the beginning no one was ever on the same page when it came to the narrative and the message got changed and now it's lost....
It was never lost on me and there seem to be others that understand the message, sorry you got “lost”[/QUOTE
I'll go with what most the of the players, the NFL and the vast majority of Americans are talking about...you stick with whoever the "others" are....

but it was OK when tea tards spoke out huh
teatards voted, and we're still suffering the effects. Big difference than simply kneeling during the anthem.

Kaepernick had the perfect moment in '16, but opted to do nothing. Now we have trump.

It's hard to say. I mean, it got the nation talking, right? I suppose that was one goal.

Honestly, it isn't what I'd do - it's more about the disruption at this point than about the issue, at least in the media and in the national conversation. But I'm not really in the business of critiquing how others want to protest, for the most part.

It doesn't bother me when they kneel, and I wish it didn't bother other people. They have made it clear that they aren't disrespecting the military & that this is not their intent. I still don't understand the outrage over that, but that Trump is still seen as patriotic and supporting our military after saying he only likes the guys who weren't captured.

But, at this point, if it was my call, I'd tell them to try something else. The issue has been lost in the white noise. But it's not my call.

It sounds like you are trying to split the baby and you agree with me in principle. I think you are still scarred by BAC calling you a racist you need to check your white privilege at the door so you don't get verbally assaulted again. For the record, I don't see you as a racist and what BAC did is emblematic of the left. But no need to go into the past.

I can only speak for myself

My issue isn't solely with the kneeling although I do have a problem with it. Here are my issues

1) They only seem to want to "protest" during the minute and a half during the national anthem. I don't see or hear about them doing much else. Kaepernick organize a march on DC for JUST football players? Offseason would have been a good time for them to organize some shit, but I didn't hear of anything. That makes me question motives

2) It is clear that they are not gaining allies with their stupidity and the league was hurt by it last year. They will be hurt again this year as well

3) This is just part of a larger issue in that every part of our society is becoming politicized. That isn't to mean that athletes aren't supposed to hold political views. Of course they are and if these guys were protesting and marching on their own time I doubt many would give a shit. But, most people turn to sports, movies, music etc as an escape from everyday life a chance to immerse yourself in something else. It isn't the place I go to see MORE politics

4) As an offshoot of #3 the NFL is the source of its own demise. It started with the whole Pink in October bullshit. And no, that doesn't mean I don't care about Breast Cancer Awareness, but plenty of people are aware of breast cancer the NFL didn't need to get in. I get it. They were trying to grow their fan base and that is their business, but you don't do it at the expense of your core viewership. The whole CTE is another politicized issue.

5) Goodell is the worst Commissioner in history. How he handled the Ray Rice situation was a travesty. Ray Rice got screwed royally.

I predicted two years ago that the NFLs glory days were behind it that we would see its inevitable decline. I was laughed at. People said "look at all the money they are making". That is usually when BIG businesses are ripe for the fall. The sad thing is that the NFL is going to be the architect of its demise.

Oh, my, my, my.

If the players and staff of the NFL finds out YOU are boycotting them...whatever will they do?

Me x 150million AMericans. Yeah they were already hurt last year in ratings by the SJW thugs on the teams.

And just to be clear, most NFL players are great people, just a few thugs ruining it for everyone.

A lot of people say the same thing as you did in #1 above. The fact that you don't see or hear them speaks volumes about exactly why they wanted to do a more controversial protest - because the rest of the stuff doesn't get talked about, at all. It gets no headlines, and doesn't get people talking.

Google what Kaep has been doing. He has donated over $1 million to 10 different organizations dedicated to improving lives and opportunity in the inner cities, and spent most of his time working with those organizations. Most other players devote tons of time to their communities and to trying to improve lives.

I don't really understand why people always say that they don't see the players doing "anything else." Are you looking? Most are pretty committed to this issue, and to their communities in general.

I have never had rules for when people want to speak out. If some Trump supporter wants to do a MAGA rant on a red carpet for a movie or at a sporting event or wherever, I don't care. I might take issue w/ the comments, but it in no way affects my enjoyment of the movie or game or whatever it is. I swear, I'll never get that. Your delicate sensibilities are so offended that the event is "ruined" for you somehow? And we're the snowflakes?

And the NFL will be just fine. It still rakes in billions, and will for our lifetimes unless CTE ruins it, and they have already changed many of the rules of the game to protect head injuries.

I just want to be clear also.

People like you make me laugh...so I posted a visual that was doing lots of laughing.

I am laughing.

You are funny!

I don't much give a shit whether you watch the NFL or not...and I suspect the people doing the protesting do either.

So, fuck off and instead of watching the NFL...watch some shows on crocheting.

They aren't protesting slavery.

Try reading DT's post (#19) and see which part of his nonsense statement I was addressing. Apparently he seems to think they are since he referenced "Liberty and Justice for all" and history.

Hello Darth,

Thanks for the link. Can you quote me some part of that story that says the President offered to the protesting players to come to the White House for a meeting?

An offer was made, but it was a different offer. I do like viewing different media, but I also like to get the story straight.

The offer was to consider individual pardons for incarcerated people the players feel were wrongly sentenced harshly.

How does that get dead and cold black Walter Scott his life back, who was shot in the back while running away from a white police officer who stopped him over a broken tail light? And how does that prevent more Walter Scott's?

While it certainly is a meaningful offer to pardon some individuals, that doesn't change the system. It may, however, provide some publicity for the President and suggest that protesting police discrimination should then stop, which it should NOT. Not until there is fair and equal treatment.

Deflategate Part 2: NFL Investigating Steelers Use of Deflated Balls in Preseason
http://www.realclearlife.com/sports...-steelers-use-of-deflated-balls-in-preseason/
the attorney who led the NFL’s 14-week investigation into the Patriots deflating footballs and concluded it was “more probable than not” the team violated league rules may have more work to do.

On Thursday night during the third quarter of their preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Pittsburgh Steelers were reportedly using footballs that were so badly deflated they looked like marshmallows.

Spectators, including NFL officials, noticed the ball and the league confiscated it so an investigation could be started.

Yes, I honestly believe it makes you moist -- thanks for your honesty as well...

Now lotion up and go to town on yourself...

I'll give you some added inspiration....Lebron is dumb, because he is black and stuff....enjoy

I honestly believe you're a nigger lover.

Go kiss you some more black ass, boy.

Some of us are aware of the equivalence in criminal activity versus the inequity of the application of ''the law'' in American society. And then some support that paradigm.

Those of us that know the truth are aware that people of color commit crimes on a far higher basis then use the "it's applied different for us" excuse.

From the 1:46 - 1:55 mark, the thug's family member tries to justify how it was OK for the POS that got what he deserved because he is be from da hood and how it is be OK for him to steal in order to gets the bling he be wanting.

Trump can’t change the system, sufficiently, to meet the standards of many if not most SJW’s.

But he offered to right some wrongs and the ball stayed on the kneelers side of the field. Granted, it won’t bring Walter Scott back to life any more than it will one of any number of innocent cops who were killed by thugs in the line of duty.

The offer seems like a win-win to myself and many others. Get some people out of prison, meeting with the president gets the kneelers a much bigger and better platform to voice their concerns.

Everyone should be happy.

No one cares that you are laughing. You sound like a crazy person. Probably suffering from TDS.
