Mozilla CEO resigns after donation to Prop 8

The most chilling thing is that the IRS gave information on his political donation to a left wing group. That is what our country has become under Obama and lefties look the other way.

People like Cawacko act "shocked". This is what you get trying to "cooperate" with lefties

They are fascist thugs. They need to be defeated.

Go have a beer Wacko. It will make you feel better about it. You wouldn't want to do anything difficult like stand up for something. It might make your lefty friends mad and we can't have that

Since you seem to feel you are the arbiter of what are acceptable conservative beliefs why don't you share with me with where I fall short.

You feel I'm some soft moderate RINO. Desh thinks I'm a racist. String thinks I'm a conservative who hates gays and atheists.

You've made multiple comments about it as well as multiple comments about drinking. I don't know if you are a teetotaler or not, I don't care one way or the other, but it clearly bothers you that I occasionally drink. So let it out ILA.

That's nothing! In the course of one single week I went from "Jew-hater" to a "Jew liar". Right on this board. It was awesome!

What makes it clear that his resignation was forced? You are complaining about consumers and employees, none of who had any power to fire him or "force" his resignation.

Now you're just choosing to be obtuse.

How do you like this statement from the company String? The company agrees with people expressing their opinion basically as long as everyone else agrees.

""Mozilla believes both in equality and freedom of speech. Equality is necessary for meaningful speech. And you need free speech to fight for equality. Figuring out how to stand for both at the same time can be hard.

We have employees with a wide diversity of views. Our culture of openness extends to encouraging staff and community to share their beliefs and opinions in public. This is meant to distinguish Mozilla from most organizations and hold us to a higher standard. But this time we failed to listen, to engage, and to be guided by our community.""

I don't see anything showing the IRS gave this information to a "left wing group". First of all, I'm pretty sure political donations are public information.

It's extremely unlikely the IRS had this information in the first instance. Apparently, the information is publicly available from the California Secretary of State's office and the LA Times put together a nifty database to search for donor information:

http://projects.latimes.com/prop8/donation/8930/

There you go. I figured. The huffpo had a link to a public database where you could look up someone and see how much they donated and to whom during one of the elections, that's why I figured it had to be public information. The right wing always gins up their persecution complex.

When did I say that?

i dont know why these people resign. I would make them fire me.Pretty sure if you are a CEO there has to be some thing protecting you from the board just blackballing you but i dunno. He must have gotten paid to just go away so they could kill this thing immediately.

Nothing in there helps prove it. Again, the consumers and employees had no power to fire him. I don't really get why anyone should be upset about this guy resigning and not the many people who are denied benefits or fired (without a severence package) by some intolerant conservative bigot.

I think you know where I stand. I am not being ambiguous

You ... must ... not ... be ... cordial ... to ... the ... "enemy" ... AT ALL. Don't you know anything cawacko? Also, you must believe exactly like everyone else [in your party]. Don't you dare have a unique thought. Geesh..... And quit your foolish drinking while you're at it. ;)

I left out racist as well. You started a thread that said Chickenshit CPAC left out atheists and gays and brought in a white nationalist to appeal to conservatives like me.

Geez.... Again, i appealed to you for comment. I expected you, 3d and sf to rebuke cpac.

You seem more concerned with proving yourself to a fascist like ila, though. If you guys are rinos relative to that sack of crap then obviously aspiring to be a real Republican seems unwise.

Employees of Mozilla went on twitter and demanded the CEO get fired for a $1,000 donation he made to Prop 8 in California which said marriage was between a man and a woman only. ...
Those tolerant, free speech liberals...

LMWAO, yeah, that's it dude. I'm trying to appeal to ILA. Do you not read what ILA says about me? Do you not see his comments about me in this thread? My beliefs are my own. I don't have my beliefs because I hope certain people will like me.

You say you are Libertarian yet your only response to this story is to talk about conservatives and the religious right and act obtuse towards the CEO being forced to resign. No actual response to the story. What if in the future a CEO donates to a Libertarian candidate and employees and clients (and the board) think that makes the CEO a hateful person and they are forced to resign. No big deal?

Don't worry. I don't expect you to appeal to me. You re the squishy moderate type the lefties love. I think it is cute that you are surprised by all of this stuff
