You are incorrect. Traditionally ghettos just represent an area where a certain ethnic group has congregated. the Italian and polish and Greek and Jewish ghettos of New York City are no more the children and grandchildren have moved to the suburbs.

I should say too that I'm using the word ghetto with a somewhat broader definition than is traditional. it has always been the case in the United States that arriving immigrants congregate in one perhaps I should call it a neighborhood. But that comment really only applies to cities farming regions of course are different.
