MAMA

I only defend them to the extent that I don't think they're any worse than a lot of other people. I think they're far better than the Chinese, for example.

I was commenting on your view of "draft dodgers." While I can sympathize with disdain for wealthy elites in general that dodged the draft, draft dodging during the Vietnam era by working class people made sense. It was a pointless war not worth dying for.

Your support for Russia makes it obvious you think they are better than China. Do you think the same about the US too?

It's a matter of honor. Clinton, Trump, Limbaugh, Cheney and all others who dodged the draft with lies are dishonorable.

So you support leaving women, and children, behind to be slaughtered.

I support not getting involved in conflicts unless it actually serves our interests. Innocents will be killed regardless of whether we get involved or not. Sometimes, our involvement increases the number of innocents killed. In fact, it seems to be at least half of the time.

Not the point. In this case we could have prevented the slaughter simply by not leaving. However, under the new trump/right wing ideology we now are allowed to leave entire families to be slaughtered, persecuted, whatever. And then they claim to oppose abortion.

Abortion has nothing to do with this, but ok. Interventionism is not a matter of left vs. right, so much as it is war profiteers vs. the rest of us. There was a time when the left was antiwar, but clearly, that time has passed. Historically, you could say that conservatives were against war -- particularly in the buildup to WW2, but during the Cold War, the right was more known for being hawkish. Part of the left was antiwar for a while, although Democrats have always had their hawks, like Wilson, FDR, LBJ, and Clinton. Despite campaigning against Bush's foreign policy, Obama turned out to be almost the same as Bush. Biden will likely be the same as both Bush and Obama.

But if you're actually against the slaughter of innocents, look into what our foreign policy actually results in for most of the time. We escalated the Syrian conflict under Obama. We escalated the Libyan conflict as well. People understandably criticized Trump's response to the war in Yemen, but it's very likely that Biden will escalate that. The media is suggesting that Biden will change course, but the military industrial complex won't like that. Given Biden's policy history, there is little reason to believe that he will go against the MIC.

Well, yeah, I definitely think the US is better than China too. Russia is often demonized, when the biggest threat to the world is China. It's a reflection of outdated ways of thinking. The people that fixate on hating Russia forget that the Soviet Union died about 30 years ago. They aren't much of a threat anymore, relatively speaking. It doesn't mean we should trust them, but we shouldn't fear them either.

If anything, it would be best to try to move them away from siding with China. The more countries we can pull away from China's influence, the better. The problem is that the West has been letting China rule over a lot of the world with "soft power." That needs to be countered by Western changes to trade policies. The problem is that most Western governments have sold out to multinational corporations that have a lot invested in China. This, in turn, has a corrupting influence in our politics among both parties.

Saudi Arabia has a tiger by the tail in Yemen. It won't commit an Expeditionary Force into Yemen,
but it can't let Yemen continue to kill it's border guards and lob missiles across

we supply the logistics for the bombing....
I am a big advocate of keeping Saudi Arabia as a security partner against Iran, but that's sickening

My argument is that we can remain allies with Saudi Arabia but still refrain from selling them arms used in this war.

Russia is demonized because their chosen leader is an asshole. Dying of Parkinson's is too good for him. He should lie in bed wracked with pain after being poisoned with Polonium. Yes, China is a threat. Certainly a much stronger economic threat than Russia, but both are equal ideological, political and military threats.

The fact you are pooh-pooing the threat of poor, little unfairly demonized Russia tells me where your loyalties lie.

Yes, divide and conquer. The problem is Russia doesn't want to cooperate. Putin still thinks he can rebuild the USSR. With Putin dead, maybe sanity can grow in a country that never had any.

What do you propose the West do about China? What is your pal Putin doing about this massive threat from the East?

Does Vladimir Putin Really Suffer From Parkinson’s Disease Or Its Just Another Political Stunt To Save ‘Putinism’?

Earlier this year, Russians had voted in favor of the constitutional changes that enabled current president Vladimir Putin to stay in power up until 2036.

I volunteered. My family is military, none were drafted. We all signed up at 18. You? Did you ever serve in the military, Comrade anatta? The US military, not Russia's or anyone elses?

total misunderstanding of Putin .
He wants no more NATO encroachment on his border -but territory is the last thing he wants or needs.

He's got an extractive economy, with no access to western banking markets. He has to dance for Xi
He has no other options, and he wants western access

Comrade anatta/dukkha; by using a sock to join a conversation with your sock, you are proving you are a liar. You're a Russian cocksucking pawn. You are a liar, you attack the United States, defend Russia and use sock puppets to push that point of view. You are an enemy of We, the People and should be treated as such.

During WWII, the US established relations with the Cosa Nostra (Mafia) since 1) they still had strong connections in Sicily and Italy and 2) they didn't like the fucking Nazis either. This relationship helped the US attack and fight the war in Italy. Maybe now the US could work with such elements to remove all Russian assets in the United States.

No, you didn't comrade anatta, but thanks for revealing you and dukkha are cocksucking sock puppets. LOL

Once a liar, always a liar. I don't even believe you are in the USA much less old enough to have faced the US draft.

rofl. OK so we know you are a judgemental idiot - NeverTrump confirms that as well.
You and Bill Kristol can stop the haughtiness now that Trump is gone.

You stay stupid shit like "Is China better", and show zero grasp of the ME or it's alignments.
I'm sure you've dissed the peace deals as well, or maybe just ignored them.

Just so we're clear, I consider you dumb to average, repetitious, and judgemental

Let's do the math on this one. You were born in 1955. The last man was drafted in the USA on December 1972, when you were 17. There were few drafted in 1972, so they only drafted men born in 1952. None of the men drafted in 1972 were sent to Vietnam.

I know all this because I study history. Most people my age would not know this. But everyone who experienced it would know it.

You are not a Vietnam Veteran. You were never in the lottery to be a Vietnam Veteran. You are a liar. And as liars go, you are a disgusting liar.

Math does not lie.
