Since you like Garud's cherry picking...
1) The number of US soldiers killed in action in Afghanistan increased dramatically under Obama
2) The Economy is faltering again
3) The deficit spending under Obama has been worse in each year than the worst under Bush (2008) and is projected to get worse again this year and future years thanks to Obama
4) Labor participation rate is far lower under Obama than Bush
5) Too big to fail banks are now bigger thanks to Obama and small local and regional banks ARE being forced out of the business, thanks to Obama and the Dems
6) The government has seized more control under Obama, so not sure how individual freedom is growing.
7) Obama has one of the least transparent Administrations we have seen in the past 50 years.
That said, it is truly comical that Garud is trying to compare the end of the two Presidencies when one had the financial collapse (caused in large part by the DEMOCRAT bill Clinton repealling Glass Steagall and deregulating the big banks)
Okay, good we have something to discuss, just ignore the name calling and its like an old fashioned soda shop debate.
1. Yes, this is true, but from my perspective Afghanistan was/is justified. The war was not fully prosecuted until President Obama took over and directed the focus of military operations onto winning Afghanistan and away from continuing to lose Iraq. As long as we are comparing the two presidents.... Bush lost 4000+ in an unjustified war in Iraq. Obama lost much less finishing a necessary war in Afghanistan. I'm with Obama on this one.
2. Based on what are you claiming the Economy is faltering again? You have been saying that for 8 years. It would be normal to have had a recession in the last 8 years... where is it? Even if we have a recession this year, that would be much better than one would historically expect.
3. Yes, you have that. But the deficit has been reduced every year since 2008. In fact, In fiscal year 2009,
which started almost four months before Obama's presidency began and ended eight months into it, the deficit was 9.8 percent of GDP. The 2014 shortfall is 2.8 percent of GDP --
a decrease of 71 percent "thanks to Obama and the Dems."
4. Yes, and as the baby boomers begin to retire it will be even worse. The way we measure unemployment has been the same since Clinton was president, so we are comparing apples to apples when we discuss the Unemployment rate, which is multitudes better under Obama's 8 years. The fact is that many more people who want to work are able to do so after 8 years of Obama than after 8 years of Bush.
5. This is true and I have to give it to you fully. I am unhappy about this fact. You got one.
6. How so? More Americans have the freedom to get married, smoke what they chose, and earn money. Many Americans (me) who once would have had to risk going without health insurance are now free to start a small business are now able to do so knowing that they cannot be denied insurance due to a pre-existing condition. (FREEDOM!)
7. How so, just saying shit like that does not make it true.
