Thank you for confirming that you do not understand what profits are and their role in a business. It definitely explains your confusion on many issues

The USSR took profit out of farming and the country starved till they broke out their gold to import food.
Same thing happens with healthcare everywhere they try that nonsense.
Thank you for confirming that you do not understand what profits are and their role in a business. It definitely explains your confusion on many issues
go get your proof that payroll is not a business cost you fucking brain dead cockroach dropping
profit and pay are not the same
pay is part of the cost
profit is not
Because people will pay the last dime they own for treatment that will preserve their live and business will squeeze that maximum amount of profit from their pain and suffering because maximizing profits is what businesses do. There are ethics and morals above "supply vs. demand" economics with health care. Its more than just a business. It is life and death and wellness. That is why. It's not that maximizing profits is a bad thing in general but doing so at the cost of others disadvantage in pain and suffering is both immoral and unethical. That is why all modern industrialized nations, except the U.S., require their health care systems to operate as non-profits. That way the focus is on improving health outcomes, not maximizing profits, when those profits come at the cost of health outcomes.
It is also, in the long run, a more cost affective management model while improving over all health outcomes. In the U.S. we can't continue to waste nearly 20% of GDP on health care costs. It's far to great a slice of our economy and it is substantial hurdle to economic growth and productivity. Who do you think is driving health care reform in our nation? Government? Left wing liberals? Hell no it's corporations who are spending nearly 20% of their operational costs on health care for their employees.
They actually do work for nothing. Do you ?
The junior doctors in the NHS were on strike yesterday over pay and weekend working.

and how do you deal with all the pharmas and medical equipment costs being transferred down for profits??????
What is the incentive for companies to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on new drug research if there is no profit potential on the back end?
How about helping their fellow man.
Doing right by their fellow human beings.
I realize how insane that concept must seem to those who worship the almighty dollar.
and?
This is just a softball for a snarky response but I'll refrain. What you're suggesting is this utopian vision of man that doesn't exist.
Should I feel bad som young Doctors didn't do a bit of research regarding what working conditions were going to be like in their chosen profession BEFORE they began studying to become a Doctor.
Yeah, sadly, too many greedy bastards in this world. The incentives use to be help mankind, people who made discoveries in the medical field use to not make huge profits off other people's misery, times have changed.
All the time.
Was Hillary greedy when she asked for $600 to do a speech? Or was that just the free market?
Yeah, sadly, too many greedy bastards in this world. The incentives use to be help mankind, people who made discoveries in the medical field use to not make huge profits off other people's misery, times have changed.
Yes, they did make money. They spent a lot less of course so there wasn't so much to recoup. And testing was lessentially rigorous so we wound up with turpentine as a medicine and the Beyer people came up with heroin.
It's always been about making a buck.
