That is indeed nasty .. which is my point.
'Respect the flag .. wear it to cover your stank ass.'
They should run that during football games.
And the pasty white ass didn't help............LOL

"I won't stand 'to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people'"
Not sure what the big revelation is w/ that.
To each his own but a lot of people do take pride in the flag. So we hear it's not about the flag but as Kap clearly said it is.
And the pasty white ass didn't help............LOL
Yet.
No owners wanted to take a chance on Vick either, before Philly did. Fans forget all about their pre conceived notions, once their sports team puts up numbers. The first time Kap rushes for 60 yards, and puts up 3 T.D.s in a game, the fans will hop on board.
Fine. Can anyone explain why that can't be a personal thing?
I love America. The flag is a piece of cloth to me. I was actually kind of embarrassed when Congress took up flag-burning amendments a few times.
I don't disrespect that it's more than a piece of cloth for some. But why should Kaep's view hurt their view?
And it's the anthem. The racist lyrics are never sung at any public events.....or anywhere for that matter.
Why do people feel it is disrespectful for people to kneel? Especially those who have fought for the flag? You don't have to agree with the opinion but I don't think you need it explained to you why they feel that way.
where do you think that will be?.....
And I've heard other vets say that they fought for the freedom to protest, not for a piece of cloth, and take equal offense to a President trying to shut that down.
Which is why this should be an individual thing. To me, it's no different from "PC" complaints. People going out of their way to be offended. Live & let live.
They were adjusting to the irrational reaction, fueled by talk radio.
I said it yesterday - implying you don't like the "guys who were captured" is disrespecting our military. Tweeting negative comments that could undermine an ongoing military effort is disrespecting our military. Giving away confidential intelligence information because you're bragging about what you know in a meeting is disrespecting our military.
There is so much hypocrisy here that it's tiring to even start to scratch the surface. I see so much more patriotism in people who are willing to put themselves out there to take a stand for injustice than I do in guys like Trump who wave the flag & give it lip service, all while acting in a way that betrays those phony platitudes.
I know right?......"Hosea can you see".....what were they THINKING!

You're conflating two issues. No NFL team supports trump, which is what we saw this weekend.
so you believe they intended to stay down through the anthem but stood up because of the crowd's irrational reaction of booing them?......
That is indeed nasty .. which is my point.

I specifically quoted Kap and addressed the flag issue. Protesting Trump is a separate discussion
It's amazing that liberals think "talk radio" is such a controlling factor in people's lives. It's like they're stuck in the Nineties.
Just expanding the discussion. It's more than the Trump protest; I think it's a mistake to view the military & those who support the military as some sort of monolithic entity. I'm sure many in the military supported Kaep's initial protest, as well. The traditional view is that those folks would be up in arms over any anthem protest, but - while not having stats right now - I don't think it would be surprising if a significant # of soldiers and vets felt the same as Kaep about the treatment of the black community, and also that there are others who celebrate the protest instead of taking knee-jerk offense to it.
