Is President Apologist Still Kissing Commie Ass In Havana?

There is still a Communist government in Vietnam and I daresay they imprison dissidents as well. The USA supported some pretty disgusting and repressive regimes in the past, Cuba is changing and changing fast. There is no reason on Earth why Cuba couldn't produce cheaper drugs for the US for instance, they have a world beating pharma sector.

So long as the Castro's are in power we should refuse any support unless they release those wrongfully imprisoned.

That just ludicrous, China is far worse yet I don't recall anybody insisting that we put restore trade sanctions there. If that happened America's economy would collapse.

Not sure who you would believe, is the Brookings Institute acceptable? You do realise that Europeans have been taking holidays in Cuba for many years now, so they have developed a sophisticated leisure industry to cater for them.

I have 0 problem opening up Cuba to more tourism or making Cuban cigars legal. If the cruise ships with their passengers and their vacation dollars want to make Cuba a vacation stop then that's fine with me. After all, Cuba, at one time was the playground of the Caribbean.

But we are talking about a country with an oppressive totalitarian government which is a state sponsor of terrorism. And the political establishment of this country giving Cuba most favored nation status and in turn sending american tax dollars in the millions every year in foreign aid to that government while the people of Cuba do not benefit one iota.

Vietnam showed you it's finest as you being a tourist. There is another side of Vietnam that it didn't show you, it's slave labor force. American corporations are there. Is there a middle class? NO! Where is the money going? It's going to the Vietnamese government and it is not being used to economically lift the people there.

There is a large middle class, especially in Saigon, I was more than a tourist as I went with my Vietnamese daughter in law and socialised with her family. If instead of pontificating you actually went there you would see for yourself. I first went there in 2011 and the difference this time is just mindboggling. They are building a new airport, metro line(s) and there are hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs all over now. The Tet New Year festival was just manic, the centre of Saigon was at a standstill most evenings. Many Vietnamese go abroad to study, my daughter in law's brother is studying IT in Saigon right now and will be coming to Nottingham University in 2017 to do his masters. You need to stop dwelling on the past and realise that the world is changing, you should celebrate that fact!!

Again I draw your attention to Factcheck, Cuba is not a state sponsor of terrorism.

Castro is an anti Semite, anti gay rights and an aggressive sponsor of terrorism around the world. He has held thousands of political prisoners in his jails and he has murdered thousands of others but he remains a hero among american progressives because of his Marxist credentials.

It's time for America to stop giving the world a free ride. It's time to stop the evil political establishment from providing a gravy train for every foreign despot and totalitarian regime because progressives from Obama on down claim that america has caused all the problems in the world. The american people can no longer afford being the patsies for this world wide guilt trip of foreign aid going to other countries who don't need it in the first place or to governments such as Castro's who will not use the gravy train to improve the lot of their people.

Liberals claim that starting the money train now will lead to more democratic governments such as in Cuba down the road in so many years. This is like the climate change syndrome which is their religion. It doesn't work.

I have already posted the Factcheck link that states Cuba is not a sponsor of terrorism. It is also not anti-gay indeed there is a gay beach and a number of gay nightclubs. In fact the government even provides free sex change operations!! If you are going to criticise then at least get some facts first.

Youre partially right. But again we are not in need of Cuba. So we don't have to use the same diplomacy. AND so, we should attempt human rights pressure.

how about being decent and facilitating cuba becoming capitalistic and an asset to all

Oh yeah your morals are all relative and not set huh

Well I don't agree and neither do any of my friends that have been there for holidays. Cuba will change and is already doing so, keeping the sanctions was just counter productive. The US didn't seem to have much problem supporting vicious dictatorships like Indonesia, Chile, El Salvador, Argentina and Guatemala, to name a few, in the past. I predict you will be going there in the next five years or less.

What do you mean Cuba will change? How is giving Cuba foreign aid going to make Castro disappear?

You only want to retain very stupid fucking failed idea the CEOs have filled your idiot brain with for decades huh

Speak for yourself and not this "us" .. you pathetic queer, long to be a man.

And stick your race card up your little twit ass.

It's time to reduce the size of NATO .. which is just more foreign aid. Russia is smaller and NATO is still at cold war size and when the political establishment can get away with it, keeps expanding. You are wrong Ted Cruz, there is no more Soviet Union. NATO meanwhile, doesn't need to be abolished altogether, it needs to shrink and stop antagonizing Putin and Russia.

The United States needs to build better relations with a much more smaller Russia and try to establish a better re pore with Putin and stop antagonizing that country by expanding NATO up against Russia's borders. The Russians are the guardians of our entire civilization's eastern gate, and America meanwhile will get nothing out of kissing the Marxist dictator's ass in Cuba as it just found out with Obama's visit there.
