Is It Time To Consider Mandatory Testing?

Hello Darth,

The government does need to use our combined power to solve the housing crisis with the goal of maximum home ownership, but I don't see how people can quarantine together unless they contract the virus simultaneously and normally cohabitate.

Communism doesn't work.

Hello Darth,

The carrot is out there. We all want this thing gone.

I see the problem as a matter of getting those who are pretending it is not a problem to recognize that it is and join the effort to work against it.

Persuasion alone does not appear to be sufficient.

The government is going to have to act.

Along with the carrot, there will have to be the stick.

Such as the little wooden one with a bit of cotton on the end, going up a lot of noses.

One way to avoid that might be to train a lot of dogs and employ their keen sense of smell.

After all. They call them man's best friend. What are friends for if they cannot be relied upon in a time of need?

The governments ‘stick’ is limited by the constitution.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!

RELEASE THE HOUNDS!!!!!! Its quite a tale folks. As tens of millions of dogs of all breeds are let loose into the nation to save us from Covid with their wagging little tails and keen noses. Maybe we can even put little barrels under their necks containing a dose of the jab, a mini copy of the Communist Manifesto, and a wallet sized portrait of Chairman Mao!!!!! Great thinking Nutsy.

Hello Darth,

What part of the Constitution says the government cannot required regular disease testing during a pandemic?

The Part where Hitler read...... you have your law books,...we have our guns.....lets see which one wins!

The war on COVID is not going well.

COVID got the jump on us by sneaking up on us and sneakily spreading undetected before we knew it.

It took a long time for us to get effective testing, but the tests are not easy or convenient. Still it gave us a way to know something about where the virus is, and is not, short of people getting deathly ill or simply dying.

But since the tests are pricey and unpleasant, we don't use them very extensively.

The most effective weapon the virus has against us is it's stealth capability to go undetected before the damage is done.

We finally came up with vaccines. Yaay!

That should have been the solution.

But it hasn't been; because not everybody has participated, and the effectiveness diminishes over time.

Despite wide use of vaccines, the virus still spreads.

That brings us back to the original problem. We can't see the virus. We don't know who has it and who doesn't.

If we knew who is infected, those people could quarantine so they don't spread it to others. That would totally shut the virus down and stop the spread.

Logically, we should consider regular mandatory testing for everybody.

Effective use of testing and quarantining would absolutely end the pandemic.
Testing is being offered for the half vaxxed who wish to attend an event that requires proof of vaccine. Testing is also being accepted by airlines. In essence, we have mandatory testing for the under educated.

Think we’ll ever catch up with Australia?

Hello Darth,

Think we’ll ever catch up with Australia?

One thing is glaringly obvious.

Australia will never catch up to the USA in the number of COVID cases or deaths per million:

Nation......Cases/Million.........Deaths/Million

Australia.........1,889...................38

USA............118,652...............1,961

In terms of preventing COVID deaths, Australia has done 51 times better than the USA.

In terms of preventing COVID spread, Australia has done 62 times better than the USA.

Island nation with easily controlled immigration and the poor people are prisoners in their own country.

Thanks but no thanks. They can keep their stats. I’m not living like that.

Hello Darth,

Island nation with easily controlled immigration and the poor people are prisoners in their own country.

Thanks but no thanks. They can keep their stats. I’m not living like that.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans are not living like that because they already died of COVID.

The responsibility for those disgraceful numbers lies largely with right wing propaganda, the for-profit right wing disinformation bubble, and selfish right wing attitudes.

If you want to talk prisoners in their own country, shall I compare how many minorities are in American prisons vs Australian?

BASIC LOGIC:

If the big problem with COVID is that it spreads undetected, and we have the means to detect it, then it is only logical that we use those means.

Since many people will not submit willingly to regular testing, it is only logical that we institute regular mandatory testing.
