If the Senate allows a fair trial...

Well Frank, from what I can see there’s every reason for Democrats to NOT do this lol.

It’s not going to remove Trump; they don’t have the poll numbers for impeachment—there’s never been articles sent to the Senate with such low numbers in support of impeachment/removal; *because of that* this could very easily cost democrats the House so they can easily find themselves locked out of power for at least two years.

That would suck, right?

And that’s not even getting into the Senate trial where things could, again easily, head even further south for democrats. Democrat are ‘pretending to know’ Trump is guilty when that’s not been established. By all appearances democrats are way out on a limb on this.

They can get republican votes for a censure. Why don’t they do it?

Hint: I know the answer.

They DO have the votes for impeachment...and I suspect Trump will be an impeached president by tomorrow.

In my opinion, no president during my lifetime has so richly deserved impeachment. I understand and acknowledge that many, including you and many of my friends and family, think otherwise.

The proper course of action for what Trump has done is to impeach...even though the acquittal seem predetermined. I am happy they are doing it.

A fair trial...is fair to everyone and everything involved, Don.

A fair trial on this issue would be one fair to Trump and the rule of law.

You were so close Frankie.

Do you think what the democrat party did in the House was "fair" to President Trump? Wait, don't answer. I already know your answer.

You missed a few points but you answered my question lol.

There’s a significant segment of Democrats who care *only* about impeaching Trump. Not because of some high-minded principle but because they simply want lay the hot iron on him and brand him ‘impeached’. Probably out of frustration over the Mullet failure.

And for this—they will risk everything, to impeach a successful president. You and your JPP compatriots don’t hide your intentions very well, Frank lol. And if you’re very lucky, those intentions aren’t clear to the rest of the country.

But the poll numbers suggest otherwise.

But you didn’t need them for the House. You said you have all you need from Shiftys witnesses and the transcript. You don’t need anyth8ng else

We had them in the house? The house standard is for an indictment, its not a trial. The Trial happens in the Senate.

OMIGOD!!! AFTER THE STALINIST KANGAROO COURT WE JUST HAD IN THE HOUSE POLITBURO, YOU HAVE THE GALL TO TALK ABOUT "FAIRNESS"????!!!

THAT SAID , the STALIN-O-CRATS WILL BE TREATED MUCH BETTER BY THE SENATE..BUT THEY ARE STILL GOING DOWN IN FLAMES..as THERE IS NO CRIME...

We need a fairl trial, You do not think the facts should all become public? Do you want the facts hidden?

Hello Jarod,

If the Senate conducts a fair and through trial with witnesses such as mulvaney, and Bolton... Trump will be removed.

"If the Senate allows a fair trial..."

Good one.

I laughed out loud when I read that.

My immediate thought was: "Fat chance."

I expected a better response, Don.

Fact of the matter is that what the Democrats did in the House was FAIR...and what the Republicans will do in the Senate will be FAIR. (Lots of different understandings of what is FAIR.)

These kinds of things are resolved by the dicta of parliamentary procedure. The parliamentary procedure of the House allowed them to do everything they did...and the parliamentary procedure of the Senate will allow the Republicans to do everything they will do. Parliamentary procedure is what will decide if things are going FAIRLY.

That said, the last thing in the world the Republican senators want...is a fair trial. They want the entire process to allow them to acquit Trump, NOT BECAUSE THEY THINK HIS ACTIONS ARE NOT WORTHY OF REMOVAL, but for their own personal political reasons.

The acquittal of former President Bill Clinton was FAIR...and his impeachment was FAIR. The acquittal of OJ Simpson was FAIR. The fact that Trump is president despite getting 3,000,000 fewer votes than his opponent is FAIR.

Anyway...my guess: The House will impeach Trump...and the Senate will acquit him. Both will have been done FAIRLY...by one of the understandings of "fair" I mentioned above.

Both sides will take issue with the "fairness" of the parts that went against where they wanted them to go.

(Gonna respond to a few other things, then gotta be gone for a few hours. Today...endoscopy. Gonna put me out using Propofal. Shit is dynamite. I can understand why MJ was hooked. I'm gonna ask the anesthesiologist to push the plunger nice and slowly so I can enjoy it better. He is not gonna pay any attention.)

I was dead-set AGAINST impeachment earlier, Darth. I figured it to be a net negative for the people I favor in office. But at some point I realized that Trump HAS TO BE impeached...or we might as well rip up the Constitution.

I think the impetus for impeachment is MUCH more complicated and reasonable than you suppose.

Hello dukkha,

lol.. maybe if the Dems had tried to enforce their subpoena, instead of rushing thru Impeachment lite
they could talk about "fairness"

Trump would drag it out past the next election the impeachment is meant to protect from rigging.

That would be tantamount to allowing the criminal free access to the bank he intends to rob.

You dont want the facts known?

what facts would that be jarod?

how about why Hunter Biden was hired by a Ukrainian oil firm, a corrupt Ukrainian Oil firm while his father was VP.

you want those facts jarod, or is it just "nothing to see here?"

we have heard all of the supposed "facts" on impeachment, adnauseam from the Democrats, over and over and over

We're kind of over the "facts" already, in case you decided to not poll watch lately.

You will get what the GOP majority in the Senate decides you get, remember, it's the rules jarod

The Senate Republicans will control this circus started by the fanatics in the House.

No crimes were committed and the president will be exonerated in the Senate and the far left loons in the House will have failed, once again, to remove the sitting president, that the American people elected, from office.

The American voters elect our presidents, not the fanatics in the House.

Amen to that.

The Democrats have lost this battle, they tried, but they failed.

justice is on the way, the only real crime to date is FISA abuse, Durham and Barr are very powerful men in very powerful positions.

It's right around the corner
