What you seem to fail to understand is that there was no backup blow-out preventer, so having yet another way of activating a failed device was not going to make any difference. The BOP had already partially closed and further attempts to close it directly with an ROV were also unsuccessful, so an acoustic switch is not going to do anything. This is basic logic which you seem to have great difficulty comprehending. If you had a light switch in your house that was activated by clapping your hands, it is hardly going to work if the light bulb has blown.

Tom, cut the bullshit. THE WHOLE POINT IS THAT BP DID NOT HAVE A BACK UP SYSTEM..AND THAT MEANS NO BACKUP BLOW-OUT PREVENTER AS WELL. Comprendre?

They cut corners to save half a million dollars....a pittance compared to their 1st quarter profit prior to the disaster. No matter how many times YOU keep repeating moot points, it WON'T change the FACTS OF RECENT HISTORY.

BP cheaped out on a back up system utilized by other companies in other nations PRECISISELY TO PREVENT THE DISASTER WE NOW HAVE IN THE GULF. What they hoped would NOT happen did, and the precautions they settled on didn't cut the mustard.

They will be held accountable...and hopefully all the little SOB's in the US gov't that aided and abetted them.

Deal with it or don't...that's the way it is.
