If Joe wanted to protect Hunter, he would have fired Weiss as soon as he took office, and put in his chosen State Attorney which was not only his right, but a norm for all POTUS to do. He went AGAINST the norm to leave Hunter in peril in the system, as the right thing to do.
If Joe wanted to protect Hunter, even at this late date, he would fire Weiss now, as Trump would do, regardless of the optics.

I peg the over/under betting line at 70% Weiss pulls a Durham and losses on all charges.
Not because I have read them and heard any analysis but rather because right derps almost always lose, making it the safe bet. Add to that, that like Durham caved to other right derp pressure to 'bring some charges or face right derp wrath' and that clearly seems to be the case with Weiss, and it seems destined to be a loser and yet another nothing burger in a line of nothing burgers.
I am already envisioning Weiss being called in by the HOuse, after losing, as Durham was, and called a RINO and Democrat and attacked by Gaetz and other Republicans for not finding charges that could succeed. Gaetz made it clear to Durham that if you are given 5+ years to investigate Dems we expect some guilty verdicts, as if simply wanting Right Derp Slanders and Beliefs to be true, actually makes them true.

The President selects an US attorney from a list approved by the Senators of a given state. No US attorney in Delaware gets appointed without Biden approval first because Biden ran politics inside of Delaware. Biden can't fire Weiss now without a significant political blow back. Weiss is a blue team player though. He ignored IRS charges for felonies in 2014 and 2015 taxes and let the statute of limitations expire. Weiss also tried to sweep the rest of the IRS charges under the rug by including them and any potential FARA felonies with his bogus Gun violation deal. So your constant whining "but Trump appointed Weiss" is nothing short of hysterical. It just show how stupid you are.
I suspect Weiss is hunting for a Democrat friendly Federal judge as we speak.

Just because Joe was immensely influential in Delaware DOES NOT MEAN every single prosecutor or person is a Dem or fro Joe and you should be ashamed at saying something so stupid., You are arguing there is NO BIPARTISAN split possible in areas where one party has ruled and that is stupid and defied by the FACTS. You DO NOT get 100% of your judges or prosecutors in a State, and Trump very carefully, with his advisors chose Weiss due to GOP, CONSERVATIVE deep credentials.

Saying he would face backlash, is like saying Trump won't fire Comey due to backlash. That DOES NOT stop the POTUS, if he wants to, as Trump PROVED, so again saying Biden CANNOT due it wrong. He can.
He could also simply pardon Hunter, saying this 5+ witch hunt needs to end as Trump would do. Joe won't because he trusts the system. But he can. So again it is stupid to say in the OP Joe cannot do anything. He COULD do a lot. He CHOOSES not to and to trust the system.
