Tesla recalls thousands of vehicles due to loose bolts
Loose bolts in the second row seats of thousands of Tesla cars was the reason cited for the recall.
The bolts that were securing second-row seat back frames in a number of Tesla’s 2022-23 Model Y vehicles may not have been securely tightened, the NHTSA said in its report.

Every Single Tesla On The Road Has Been Recalled

Now that's some (re)-liability there!

Yep. They pay the drug dealers with welfare money.

It's an abuse of the government resources.

The worst is when I report them to the GC and real estate management for referral to Child Protective Services... Did that a couple of times now. Those cases are just sad...

On my street, virtually every house has at least one pickup truck or service van in the driveway. Also interestingly, if you go to the low rent district in the gunfire zones--so-to-speak--you see an awful lot of late model Beemers and Mercs there... Seems being on welfare pays pretty good...
On my way to work once I stopped in the local grocery store to pick up my lunch. In the check out line I got behind two women. One held up the line while the other completed her shopping (always annoying). The woman finnaly reached in her Dooney Bourke and paid with a Texas welfare card and then they drove off in a new BMW
purse. Meanwhile I got in my 15 year old truck and drove to work.

Most people do not own a Tesla, so what is your point? It was a discussion about maintenance costs. Can you follow that far?

Well with cars like Ferraris, they're really just pecker extenders. If you're smart you never drive one any further than your dick is long. You have to save up those lengths over time until you get enough to drive the car somewhere one time...

Been there, seen that. There was this one complex I went to a few times. The ally out back of it had covered parking for the tenants. The whole place looked like downtown Mogadishu right after the US military shot it up. Yet, there were beemers, mercs, caddys, and other high-end cars galore in the parking spaces. It was like WTF?!

Ferrari bills its self as an expensive sports car not used for basic transportation. Tesla bills itself as an everyday commuter's car. So what is your point?

My brother owns a neat old model Ford Bronco. There was a young girl who lived in an apartment below his apartment. She was a welfare recipient. She had frequent paying male "guests" also.. Anyway my brother paid for covered parking. He came home one day after a long hard day of work in the pouring rain and a nice new Mercedes was parked in his spot. This spot was clearly labeled with his name and a no parking sign. So my brother chained off his bronco to it and dragged it off down the block. About 30 minutes later he could hear a male voice screaming "they stole my car".

Every household on my block has a novelty car of some type, and we are not exactly a McMansion neighborhood.

There are still a lot more of licensed vehicles out there than licensed drivers. TRUST ME!

I'll bet you don't live here.......and I don't trust you farther then Desh could throw you.....

For all I know, Tesla could be a quality car.
I'm open minded about emerging technology, and they don't look bad.

I don't like the owner. That's my barrier to entry.

Ferrari and Bentley, for example, have an entirely different barrier to entry--
the requirement to leave something to the kids that I helped drag onto this stupid fucking planet.
I've already poured more money than I had a right to into a 60+ year old restomod.

Well, with Bentleys, you have to be invited by the company to buy one. They won't sell you one just because you want to buy one. That's exclusivity for you!

As for Teslas, they are a grossly overpriced, badly made, average car. They aren't particularly luxurious or exclusive.

Bentley not only sold tabloid queen Paris Hilton one of their cars, but custom painted it Pepto Bismol Pink at her request.
You can easily find it on Google Images if you think I'm kidding.

Pretty much anybody from Boston can go to Herb Chambers and buy whatever the hell he/she wants. Herb will get you ANYTHING---if you've got $$$$$$$.
Most of these exclusivity stories are urban legends.

Hey, I didn't say Bentley wouldn't pander to their buyers, I just said they're exclusive about who they are. You have to have the money to buy one to get considered for buying one.

Tesla Reliability And Repair Costs - The True Story

"Tesla may have claimed its fame by being the first big hitter in electric automobiles, but hype doesn't always align with reality. Teslas are consistently rated high in customer satisfaction, but after several years of low ratings from top authorities in the industry, their reliability is undoubtedly in question. J.D. Power and Consumer Reports both rank Tesla at the bottom of the pack when reliability is tested. It's reported that Tesla vehicles have an average of 171 mechanical issues per 100 vehicles. For reference, the average number for most automakers hovers around 120 issues per 100 vehicles. If you're considering the purchase of a Tesla, you may want to dig a little deeper into the real cost of ownership before you start passing out signatures."

Tesla Reports Record Revenue for 2022, With 1.31 Million EVs Sold

Tesla sold more cars and made more money than ever, despite its average transaction price falling.

Tesla's finished 2022 on a tear, bolstered by recent price reductions for its stable of electric sedans and SUVs. The automaker's full-year 2022 earnings statement, released at the close of market Wednesday, revealed it delivered 405,278 electric cars in the fourth quarter -- up from 343,830 deliveries in the previous quarter. This brings Tesla's total deliveries in 2022 to 1.31 million cars, which is a record high for the brand and 40% growth year-over-year, but also just short of its own goal of 1.4 million deliveries.

In Tesla's earnings release, it notes that the average sale price for its vehicles has "generally been on a downward trajectory for many years." The automaker reduced prices by up to 20% on its lineup of electric cars late last year.

Apples. oranges

Nope. Tesla is the most expensive and luxurious of EVs. Compare it with the most expensive ICEs if you want to be fair. However, EVs require far less maintenance and repair than an ICE. Far fewer moving parts. You are trying to cheat in your posts. ThatisI what you do.

My 1962 Corvette was the singularly most flagrant self-indulgence of my life.

Before one penny is spent on buying the original vintage car,
and before one penny is spent on fully restoring its coachwork only,
the new aftermarket rolling chassis and its drivetrain,
including a custom-built street engine by a prominent race engine builder,
cost more than a brand new Corvette from the showroom.

On top of that, to preserve the market value of the car, the original chassis
and drivetrain must be kept in storage to give a subsequent owner the option
of rebuilding the car once again, only as an authentic restoration as opposed to
a high performance "restomod."

Now I fully realize that these words have less than nothing to do with the topic of this thread.
That's obvious. I apologize for that.

However, I fell that we've talked about boring Teslas more than long enough
and that perhaps the discussion of a truly beautiful car
was finally in order.

I twice tried to upload an image but the webpage won't accept the file from my laptop..
I don't know why. Sorry.

I've had my Tesla Model Y LRDM for two years and my maintenance costs include $10 for windshield washer fluid. That's it.
Not sure why this makes the MAGA morons wet their panties but it sure is fun to watch.

Tesla Finally Gets The Luxury Interior It Deserves, But It Will Cost You $29,995

One of the most often heard complaints about Tesla vehicles is the interior looks cheap for a luxury car. When you compare it to the interiors from the Mercedes-Benz EQS or the Porsche Taycan, the complaints are not without merits. Well, Tesla has finally decided to address the issue with the help of its next door neighbor, Unplugged Performance.
