this is why most people are considered ignorant of both history and law. especially you. Neither the constitution, or the bill of rights, is a listing of what rights we have and don't have as a free people. The constitution is a document that builds the federal government and outlines it's very specific and LIMITED powers that 'we the people' gave it. The BoR is a list of rights that 'we the people' considered OUTSIDE the powers of the new federal government. If you read very carefully, it details many things around phrases that lets the federal government know that they cannot touch them in any way, shape, or form.

this is the situation that shows your statism, or love of government power. you wholeheartedly believe that if the government says it is so, then it is indeed so. history has numerous incidents of obvious constitutional violations that you SHOULD be aware when it happens. your issue is that your partisanship takes precedence and overrides your morality on it.
