Complaining about petrol prices, much like complaining about taxes, is for tacky people.
I never see classy people do it.

Yes. The Covid fear mongering and shutdowns. You can't snap your fingers & make 50% of our energy needs from green anything. Only a moron doesn't know that. But democrats went ahead with the goal of destroying our gas & oil industry anyway. And now this is the mess we find ourselves in. Could the democrats have found a better way to screw the poor & middle class people?
Don't forget show created the fear mongering and shutdowns. Democrats.I honestly don't think so. For once I'm thinking that they may not get by with blaming something they did on someone else. We will have to see in the next election, won't we?

https://www.ntu.org/publications/de...ling-rates-will-hurt-american-competitivenessAccording to a leaked document on its website, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is considering raising the fees that companies pay to drill for oil and gas on public lands by fifty percent.
https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/26/poli...ent-federal-review-oil-gas-leasing/index.htmlThe Department of the Interior on Friday released a long-awaited review of oil and gas drilling on federal lands and oceans that recommends an increase in leasing fees and consideration of environmental concerns in leasing decisions.
https://www.cnn.com/2022/02/21/us/biden-climate-social-cost-of-carbon-court/index.htmlThe Biden administration has once again put a pause on new leases and permits for federal oil and gas drilling after a judge blocked the administration from using a metric that estimates the societal cost of carbon emissions.
Biden revived the social cost of carbon on his first day in office, setting it at $51 per ton of CO2 emissions -- the same level as set by the Obama administration. The administration was expected to release an updated figure this February.
The President does control the US bureaucracy.

So, Biden can, and is raising the cost of drilling and operating oil and gas wells by various administrative means that he controls. If it costs more to drill, costs more to extract, and costs more to deal with bureaucracy, the price of oil will rise to compensate for that.
Let's go Brandon!

I think the biggest problem has been the banks, which are now mostly controlled by the WOKE, who want the gas and oil industry dead tomorrow. They have extensively threatened the oil companies with penalties for lack of compliance.

https://www.spglobal.com/marketinte...as-biden-stalls-resolution-land-swap-63017271The Biden presidency in the U.S. was expected to bring about enthusiasm for the green revolution and the metals to fuel it. But faced with a decision to permit one of the most valuable mining projects in the country, the new administration sided with environmentalists and Indigenous rights activists.
The U.S. Agriculture Department's decision to withdraw approval for the proposed Resolution copper mine in Arizona was the Biden administration's first politically contentious action on mining. With other U.S. mines in development also expected to test the Biden administration, mining companies should anticipate new hurdles for their projects if the Resolution decision is any indicator of the administration's direction.
