I'm not saying I'm sure this is what's going to happen, but I can definitely see this happening. One thing that no one in the media, that I have seen since I got back, has mentioned is that he talked of peace in afghanistan in his speech. I always had hopes that he figured he coudln't pull out of Afghanistan just like that, but would take the troops out of Iraq and put some in Afghanistan, hang out a few months, declare mission accomplished and get the hell out.

One thing that has really got to be fought against though, by those of us of this mindset, is this idea that Afghanistan is the "good war". I even know some in the anti war movement who have said to me they might not go to DC in march for the ANSWER anti-occupation march, because they "dont' want to march against obama" and he's going to get out of there anyway. Well, maybe, but it never hurts to push, and he himself has said this. You have to stay on this stuff.

it's is the good war on the left side. On the right any war is a good war.
But, what is to be achieved in Afghanistan? The goals are less clear than Iraq, and I'm sure he realizes it.
He can pull out of Afghanistan and still fight terrorism

The saddest part about this is having to listen to white people who've had no hand in the struggles of African-Americans suddenly feel so empowered that they presume themselves to admonish black people about Obama.
