Well, that is a thing. As I said, I get the cynicism. However my measure of interest is either nonexistent because it isn't unconstitutional, or curious if we can get leftist leaders who are members of other religions to do the same would the rightwing prolapse as much? I'm curious about that. However I don't think it will happen so I am mostly bored with the subject.

There are a LOT of Constitutional things our government can do that I do not like.

I do not like religion being used to grab power or dog whistle people to their side.

I don't like anti religious folks using things as a dog whistle, etc. blather... that is just blather.

This is the chart: Is it unconstitutional? > No? > Move on.

Is it interesting? Possibly, if we can experiment a bit. If we can't > Move on.

I think a government employee should act with an abundance of caution, and attempt to avoid the mere perception of impropriety.

It would be wise for a Secretary of Defense to do Bible study quietly and off the radar with friends and like minded fellow Christians, rather than announcing this with dramatic fanfare and seeking media coverage on FOX.

Hence a very good test. If she took it upon herself to lead some Muslim prayers for our troops and their safety, since they hate her so much, shouldn't they knee jerk react in anger? I'm willing for it to be her that tests it out. I would love to see if the rightwing would be supportive or if they would prolapse. We'd know rather than just have your supposition.

My bet: If she did this, most of the critics would be leftist, because she would not be "inclusive" enough.

Bingo. That's my thought as well. Just like the Toadstool and his $60 Bibles. Damo said the word "cynical." I'm cynical and suspicious of these clowns enough that it wouldn't surprise me a bit if another motive for this charade isn't to spark outrage so they can whine about being "persecuted." If there's one thing far RW Xtians love, it's being persecuted. lol
