Correct. You and I both know why, its a dog whistle to the base.
Why even advertise they are doing this? Why not do it quietly and under the radar?

Well, that is a thing. As I said, I get the cynicism. However my measure of interest is either nonexistent because it isn't unconstitutional, or curious if we can get leftist leaders who are members of other religions to do the same would the rightwing prolapse as much? I'm curious about that. However I don't think it will happen so I am mostly bored with the subject.Correct.

How so?Yet here we are, in this very thread, with leftists prolapsing.
Six pages of folks telling us how awful it is. That's a prolapse. How so?
There are a LOT of Constitutional things our government can do that I do not like.Well, that is a thing. As I said, I get the cynicism. Give me a fucking break.
It's great to know that the people in charge of national defense
are either afflicted with inane religious superstitions
or pretend to be so as to pander to their idiot sycophants.
America, after only a few months of this particular Pigshit Administration, is stone cold dead, never to recover.
You collaborators must be very proud.
I hope it was worth surrendering your human status.
Really, you see 6 pages of people saying its awful?Six pages of folks telling us how awful it is. That's a prolapse.
I haven't read the whole thread, but even a vocal minority who generally have a knee jerk hostility to Christianity does not represent the entire Democratic base.Yet here we are, in this very thread, with leftists prolapsing.
I don't like anti religious folks using things as a dog whistle, etc. blather... that is just blather. There are a LOT of Constitutional things our government can do that I do not like.
I do not like religion being used to grab power or dog whistle people to their side.
Again, we can test your theory out. We know the leftists will prolapse if Christians voluntarily gather (whenever two or more of you gather in My name Matthew 18:20). Your theory is the right would prolapse if similar prayers came from unlikely sources. So, I say we test this out. There are Muslims that work there, have it led by Ilhan Omar (as you suggested) get them to come out and pray to support our troops, and to keep them safe... Let's gauge the reaction. See who gets upset over it. Other than militant Atheists who think anyone talking about God in public is against the "Establishment Clause" my guess is only leftists will care that people are praying.
It doesn't violate the establishment clause, it is outside of work hours and voluntary. We've already gone over this and the SCOTUS ruling.
Did I say the "entire Democrat base?" methinks you are building that strawman, sticking a stick up its butt, standing it in a field and then trying to light it on fire with your soaking wet wit that you are rubbing against sandpaper hoping it will ignite.I haven't read the whole thread, but even a vocal minority who generally have a knee jerk hostility to Christianity does not represent the entire Democratic base.
Hyperbole? No. I actually would like to test your theory out. That is not hyperbole.More hyperbole.
I think a government employee should act with an abundance of caution, and attempt to avoid the mere perception of impropriety.Well, that is a thing. As I said, I get the cynicism. However my measure of interest is either nonexistent because it isn't unconstitutional, or curious if we can get leftist leaders who are members of other religions to do the same would the rightwing prolapse as much? Again, bored. I get the cynicism, I just do not care enough to join in. If the answer to my first question was "yes" then you'd have me by your side ready to dry that wit off a bit before you struck it against the sandpaper.I think a government employee should act with an abundance of caution, and attempt to avoid the mere perception of impropriety.
It would be wise for a Secretary of Defense to do Bible study quietly and off the radar with friends and like minded fellow Christians, rather than announcing this with dramatic fanfare and seeking media coverage on FOX.
Hence a very good test. If she took it upon herself to lead some Muslim prayers for our troops and their safety, since they hate her so much, shouldn't they knee jerk react in anger? I'm willing for it to be her that tests it out. I would love to see if the rightwing would be supportive or if they would prolapse. We'd know rather than just have your supposition.MAGAts already are angry at Omar so it doesn't matter what she does.
Id like to see it happen. I think there is a good 30% of Trumppers who would be OUTRAGED.
I suspect this guy is trying to use something a sacred as prayer as a personal tool for personal advancement of his career.
These anti Christian dems will never like anything or anyone that worships GOD and his followers.Six pages of folks telling us how awful it is. That's a prolapse.
Everyone who has more than 500 posts on this board knows that conservatives try to paint all Democrats as militant secular atheists who have an abiding disdain for Christianity.Did I say the "entire Democrat base?" methinks you are building that strawman,
No, you surmised that Muslims prayed there. #64.As I already stated, Muslims pray 5 times per day at that same place.
