What I've found has happened is that the AGW debate has galvanized both sides, and made an honest discussion about the environment almost impossible.

Literally, some conservatives now oppose just about any common sense measure to protect the environment, because they now see it as a "lefty" cause.

It's a shame. Regardless of AGW, we should still be working to maintain clean air & water, as well as habitat.
