Happy Birthday

116 over 1000
another 74 between 400-1000
155 under 400

So thank you dung... you have shown that Desh is indeed a liar who pulled numbers out of her ass.

(note... Desh said most had a couple hundred at most.... I gave her the benefit of the doubt and doubled her estimate and she was still flat out wrong)

That said, this was one sites reporting....

You counted all of that shit? Wow.

On the bright side, I guess we can say that Damocles is full of shit until he posts evidence of 20 events in each of the states with an average attendance of 1,000 each.

That is what I believe, yes. And I base it on the knowledge that even that site you linked to underreported, missing some places that I know had demonstrations. And I believe that in many cases they reported the low numbers. (Take a snapshot at exactly noon, see several hundred, never return and snap again, ignore the hundreds that trickle in later...)

But that again, is what believe happened based on the fact that sites that I know had protests are not listed.

We could all learn from each other. All governments make mistakes. Too much introspection would be fruitless. You have a new president. He sees what needs to be done. On the foreign front he is doing more right than wrong (but not all right, by any means). When we learn to admit our failings and can be seen to be taking positive action to put them right we have earned respect. It is very hard to kill people you respect.

They you finally admit that the Chinese are totally wrong and the only reason they invaded Tibet, is because the Chinese don't respect Tibetans!!

DAMN, that took a long time for you to admit; but thanks for finally being human about it.

But none of that is going to change the generally accepted level of violence in your society. You must admit that you are an unnaturally violent society.
The only country I have visited with a similar level of intrinsic violence is the Philipines where notices at bar entrances used to request customers to leave firearms at the door and from where I had to make a mad dash to the airport a few years ago when the hotel in which I was staying became the centre of an attempted coup! Is that a comparison of which you are proud? The United States of America and The Philipines?

Did you hear that we still execute "convicted" criminals, on the steps to the Court House??
And then we make their families pay for the bullet, that we just fired into the back of their head.
We're also thinking of invading Tibet.......er, Canada; because it was once part of what is now the US.

Then realize that those of us who WANT to do the same thing with how our country is run LOVE this country and want it to live up to its potential.

Tell the batshitcrazies to stop calling it hate.

Someone on their side has to start calling them out and telling them to stop the batshitcrazy talk.

I'm telling you Damo one of them is going to kill Americans. The internet is rife with places these nutbags can feel spurned on and think they will be heros in the eyes of the other batshitcrazies.

I know you people think its just a ploy on my part but its not.

I can smell it coming Damo and you know I have turned out to be right many times before when you guys told me I was streching.

Its going to happen.

OH-BS!!
You seem like a really informed individual and I was wondering if we, er........I coiuld have your home address.
That way we, er...........I could visit you the next time I'm on vacation.

Damo, don't act like you don't get the memo's. You are a part of the vast right-wing conspiracy. We are going to make Murrah look like child's play. We are going to make this happen.

Yes We Can!

UH-Everyone please ignore this post by cawacko.
He-he, it was just a joke.
Yeah, that's it; a joke. :pke:

cawacko; we.............er, I need to speak to you.
We can do it the next tme we "bump" into each other. (wink-wink) (nudge-nudge)

Again, that is less than half. Do you ever read what you link to? He says there were "over 750" of them, then reports estimated numbers from about 340 of them. And he isn't "my guy".

Let it go, Damo.
It appears that there are those that only care about dismissing all this.

The amusing part is going to be when it gets large enough that they can't ignore it; but then, they'll probably just try to dismiss it again.

I'd be happy with 300,000, if it continues to grow in the future. That's always been what I said we should measure "success" as. If this was an ending to the "movement" then it was pretty short-lived and small, if it is just a beginning, it's going to be huge.

That doesn't change that I believe that there were more than that and that this is underreported. But if that's what you want to believe, that is a good starting number.

Next time, lets get some right wing musicians to throw concerts.
Then we can claim that everyone that showed up, were in agreement.

DAMN, I'M GLAD I THOUGHT OF THIS.

Does it sound like a good idea??

I agree. Not only is violence accepted, it's glorified. Just watch most of our TV shows and movies. A show like "24" pushes the envelope with its graphic portrayals of violence and torture. In the real world many people think all problems can be solved with guns. And our hack politicians ought to just drop the pretense of any thoughtful consideration of the firearms problem in this country; heck, flaunt their allegiance like Jacob Zuma from South Africa's ANC, with his campaign anthem "Bring me my machine gun". :D

this is actually quite comical. you say it's history repeating itself, yet you dont' see the irony in that statement?

of course, you'll automatically assume that it's just about lost elections because in your mind, the american people demand higher taxes, higher spending, and less guns.

FEWER guns. (Countable noun)

One of my best college friends is an immigrant from the Philippines, and yes, he is quite violent. He was the leader of the Martial Arts Club.

He was also a member of the Libertarian club on campus. :)

do we have the right to keep and bear arms in this country? why, yes we do.

an armed society is a polite society. this country could cut the violence in half if they would carry a means of defending themselves. MOST crime victims are victims because they refuse to protect themselves.
Criminals rarely attack a victim obviously able to defend themselves, and like any gambler will weigh the odds before attacking an unknown. That's why concealed carry and castle laws are so successful at reducing crime.

In a civilised society the criminals don't just attack people for the sake of it. If someone attacks you you have probably done something to deserve it. So, don't get on people's tits. It's cheaper than buying a gun and much safer.

So it's the victim's fault. Wow.
