Gun-toting soccer mom, husband shot

Please put down the NRA and address France and England achieving such lower a murder rate. I bet dumberthanabrick you've never read up on it.
Ok, since you asked so nicely....

"According to the U.N., as of 2005, Scotland was the most violent country in the developed world, with people three times more likely to be assaulted than in America. Violent crime there has doubled over the last 20 years. 3% of Scots had been victims of assault compared with 1.2% in America"

"Firearm use in crimes has doubled in the decade since handguns were banned in England"

"Street robberies soared 28% in 2001. Violent crime was up 11%, murders up 4%, and rapes are up 14%.This trend continues in 2004 with a 10% increase in street crime, 8% increase in muggings, and a 22% increase in robberies. In 1919, before it had any gun control, the U.K. had a homicide rate that was 8% of the U.S. rate. By 1986, and after enacting significant gun control, the rate was 9% – practically unchanged."

That good enough?

I'm telling you white trash NRA member NASCAR watching boobs that thier murder rate today is exponentially lower than ours. Guns may not be the only reason, but the dramatically lower ownership rate is without a doubt a large factor.:pke:
Now go back to your country music and wife beating.

Ah yes, when logical and reason fail, we must all be ignorant white trash!

your getting warm little jedi GED'r. Now look up the murder rate and compare it to ours.
We have nearly 18,000 annualy, here's a clue theirs are way, way , way lower.

I know it's hard to follow GED boy.
18,000 for us
prob 5 times lower for them

4% rise from 50 times lower than us is not exactly murderous. Tool

Ok. Since we've already established a few things:
You appear to be immune to logic and reason
You ignore blister evidence when it is contrary to your belief
You refuse to address such concerns
You resort to insults and name calling when everyone else agree you're wrong based on your inability to prove other wise

I'm sorry, but you don't seem to be showing your 'education' here.

who's ignoring you and your NRA brothers freaking out when someone mentions a large western culture with an exponetially lower murder rate than ours.
Again, I could give to flying fucks about your talking points from the NRA.
None of it changes the FACTS
France and England have exponentially lower murder rates. If your loving 18,000 murders a year rock on welder boy.

You have yet to argue against a single FACT that I've presented, constantly writing them off as 'NRA talking points'. And the classy resort to insult me I'm guessing with the 'welder boy' comment. I'll let you go it you can refute any single one of my arguments. Hell make up evidence, it would certainly look better than presenting none at all!

In the US, there are roughly 17,000 murders a year, of which about 15,000 are committed with firearms. By contrast, Britain, Australia and Canada combined see fewer than 350 gun-related murders each year. And it's not just about murder. The non-gun-related suicide rate in the US is consistent with the rest of the developed world. Factor in firearms, and the rate is suddenly twice as high as the rest of the developed world.
Children are affected particularly hard. An American youth is murdered with a firearm every four and a half hours on average. And an American youth commits suicide with a firearm every eight hours. It's worth remembering that many of the most spectacular mass murders of recent years were really suicides, with the perpetrators choosing to take a few other people with them while they were at it.

Glad to see you're at least arguing properly.
Those statistics ignore many things, such as population density, which is why everything I have presented is per capita (usually per 100,000). Per capita, you would do well to remember that despite the legal gun supply in Britain being almost null, their violent crime rate has not changed in almost 100 years, and in some cases, actually RAISED.
I'll come back to argue more in a bit, something has come up.

Let me help you stay legal......

I saw a site with different numbers, but lets say your correct.
12,000 less murders would be nice

Cue Switzerland, a country with the highest firearms ownership per capita in the world.

Here's the problem with repeating something you heard on rightwing talk radio, without checking the facts yourself.

Switzerland has far more restrictive gun control laws than the United States, especially since the 1990s when they had some horrific cases of mass murder and domestic violence by handguns.

Switzerland does historically have a higher rate of homicide and domestic violence by fire arm than most of its western european neighbors.

The death rate by firearm in switzerland has gone down since the introduction of more restrictive gun control laws in the 1990s.

So, is your contention, that you'd like to tighten up our amazingly lax gun control laws, at least up to the level of Switerland? Fine by me, when do we start?

you think that will simply lower crime? or just homicides by firearm? I know alot of anti gun people could care less, right now, how many people die by stabbings or beatings, just so long as it's not by a firearm.

somebody posted it 80% buy guns, so do the math drop out. We'd be close to other advance country's rates ex the gun nuts.

you're making the claim that the 80% that buy guns are criminals, but if that were the case, our crime rate would look like a judge dredd movie. who's doing the faulty math now, idiot?

God your a dubmass, I'm making the claim that 80% of murders are with guns as someone posted earlier.
Dropping out or skipping college is not good.

It's hard for me to believe that 80% of the people in this country buy guns no matter who does the research. I'd have to have a reputable link to that one.
