Goodbye, Seattle

Forbes is reporting people moving to the greater Seattle, not Seattle. People in Seattle are moving outside the city limits as well as often leaving the Seattle area completely. This is also an opinion puff piece. It is not data.

Thanks for confirming you were incorrect earlier.

No. I live here. I see what is happening. There are condos and apartments being built en masse all AROUND Seattle, not in Seattle itself. Most people moving into these are refugees from the city escaping the horror the city is becoming.

There are 65 construction cranes in downtown Seattle now you stupid moron

The Seattle Times is wrong. There are actually 34 cranes in downtown Seattle currently.

There is actually one less :whoa:. Did you know that construction cranes are not people? Even Chinese ghost cities have lots of construction cranes.

Persons moving to suburban Houston, Suburban Dallas, Suburban OKC, etc… are likely moving there because they are either working in Houston, Dallas, or OKC or the places they are working in the periphery are there because they have customers in those cities. Trying to argue that the “Seattle Region” is doing well is, well, false and a dumb argument to make. You should know better.

The Seattle area IS doing well. Downtown Seattle isn't. I am not talking about Houston, Dallas, or even any city in the great State of Texas.

Insult fallacy. Cranes are not people.

That was a moronic comment for the ages….

They are a sign of economic development. Much more than population The greater Delhi area) has something like 27,000,000 people. Do you think that automatically means that the cities are doing great?

Police also served warrants to two tents at an encampment at 10th Avenue South and South Dearborn Street and a house in the 3000 block of Beacon Avenue South. Four people were arrested at these locations.

Investigators said they believe that the home was serving as the primary base for operations.

"Real and fake firearms. Knives, machetes and a sword. Stolen purses, tablets, cellphones, watches, clothing and perfume. Over $20,000 in cash. And drugs. Nearly a pound of crack cocaine, plus varying quantities of heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana and pills," said Seattle police sergeant Sean Whitcomb. "These items and more comprise the myriad evidence detectives will be poring over and cataloging as they build criminal cases against ten people arrested."

Police said they do not believe the drug rings are connected but were operating undependently with similar patterns of criminal behavior.

The investigaiton remains active and ongoing.

Police said more arrests may be made later.

Texas is a cesspool.

The reason the Seattle Area is doing well is because Seattle is doing well.

Well, we DO have Boeing plants in Everett, and the Kent valley (not in Seattle), we do have Amazon AWS and primary website development teams here (most of which live outside of Seattle and commute), we have Microsoft (primarily on the Eastside, not in Seattle), Nintendo (Eastside and North Bend, not in Seattle), and whole host of smaller high tech companies (most of which are on the Eastside or Tukwila and south areas, not in Seattle).

The high tech industry is doing well, so the Seattle area is doing well. Downtown Seattle is NOT doing well. It's only saving grace happens to be Amazon. Most of those people commute from other areas. They don't live in Seattle. Even Bezos commutes to work from Bellevue. He's getting tired of the City of Seattle's attitude too. He's in the process of moving more of Amazon out of the Seattle area.

Why do you think Texas is a cesspool?

You are locked in paradox now. You said high numbers of people is a good thing. Then you say high numbers of people is a bad thing. Which is it, dude?

Cranes are not a sign of economic development. There are lots of cranes in Chinese ghost cities. There is no economic development there, yet there are cranes. Have you forgotten what happened to Las Vegas already?
