Goodbye, Seattle

Strange. Not that this is a confirmation of the OP being false but this was mentioned on NPR this morning:

"Construction has been a constant in Seattle for years, with more cranes building apartments and offices — about 60 — than in any other U.S. city, according to The Associated Press”

Its more of a data point than confirmation but a sign that there is growth taking place.

there is plenty of information out there about Seattle being the fastest growing city in the country or the second fastest growing city in the country but as usual the knuckle-dragger are just being morons.

Of all the things that perplex me about Conservatives…this is the most bizarre. The orgasmic joy they take in someone else’s misfortune (real or perceived). I recall there was discussion (I don’t know if it was ever enacted) about the city of Seattle raising it’s minimum wage. On every message board I use, the condemnation by conservatives was almost universal. Now, the only way you would be adversely effected by this was if you were an above-minimum-wage earner in the Seattle city limits. Yet, you’d thought from the reaction that every one of these posters had a vested interest in the minimum wage being raised for something like 5-15,000 employees in one city.

They don't. I for one don't like to see people suffer from their own bad decisions, such as voting the weirdos you have on the Seattle City Council into power. The consequences are coming home. You have the right to choose, but you do NOT have the right to be free of the consequences of that choice.

It was enacted, with predictable consequences. More people are out of work as a result.
On every message board I use, the condemnation by conservatives was almost universal.
That is why. It puts people out of work.
Now, the only way you would be adversely effected by this was if you were an above-minimum-wage earner in the Seattle city limits.
No, it affects a lot of people that were formally employed in Seattle.
Yet, you’d thought from the reaction that every one of these posters had a vested interest in the minimum wage being raised for something like 5-15,000 employees in one city.
Price controls never work. They always do the same thing: cause shortages. In the case of minimum wage laws setting prices higher than market price, the resulting shortage is predictable. Jobs go away. Business fire some employees just to survive, others move out or fail to survive. A business can't just ask anything it wants for the price of it's product or service, you know. It can't just create that money out of thin air.

Yet somehow Seattle remains a growing city from many reports (#2 on Forbes List of Fastest Trowing Cities).

I never said everything is ok. You are a liar and scum bag. Trusting what a sinclair station says is the problem as has been previously pointed out. Seattle is one of the fastest growing cities in America. Why are you so uneducated?

No, it isn't. People are moving out of the city, mostly to other nearby towns in the Seattle area.

I really like Bellingham with its two separate downtowns and its music scene. Blaine looks interesting. We will check that out next time we go down there.
If we want to go camping I hear there's nice areas in downtown Seattle.

You are a liar

No. I live here. I see what is happening. There are condos and apartments being built en masse all AROUND Seattle, not in Seattle itself. Most people moving into these are refugees from the city escaping the horror the city is becoming.

Bellingham is an interesting town that way. There's a lot to like about that town. Blaine has it's own flavor, but not like Bellingham.

As far as downtown camping, you will have to reserve a long time in advance. The campsites are full! I hear the waiting time for Moran State park is shorter. ;)
