Gay marriage ruins it for the rest of us

That’s sad

How so?I agree with the Supreme Court decision making gay marriage legal.
If a church wants to do gay marriage,no problem.
I just can't make that my church, anymore than I can belong to a church that believes Mary was a perpetual virgin.
Religiously I believe marriage is between a man and a woman.

Not legally, legally only one spouse is recognized.

Why is that? If the argument by the same sex supporters is people should be able to marry the one they love, why can't it be more than one?

I've noticed that the same sex supporters who argue from the standpoint of equality, people being able to marry who they love, etc. quite often deny that equality to marriages they don't like.

Should a brother/sister be able to marry?

I agree with your Statement. Polygamy is illegal here in the US. But, when Muslims come here with their 4 wives, each is recognized as being a 'wife' by the United States.

The same sex supporters aren't about equality but an agenda. Its' easy to tell the difference.

Since you're being thick-headed, yes. I believe in the Bible.

I did not ask what you "believe in." I don't really know what that means.

But your interpretation of the Bible is incorrect.

My "interpretation of the Bible" is not incorrect...in fact, it is not even an "interpretation."

I quoted two Bible passages.

Here they are again:

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets. I have come, not abolish them, but to fulfill them. Of this much I assure you: UNTIL HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS AWAY, NOT THE SMALLEST LETTER OF THE LAW, NOT THE SMALLEST PART OF A LETTER, SHALL BE DONE AWAY WITH UNTIL IT ALL COME TRUE."

Matthew 5: 17ff

Well...Heaven and Earth have NOT passed away...and this is part of "the law.":

"If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them shall be
put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their
lives."

Leviticus 20:13

Gays will receive their punishment or salvation on judgement day as God decides for them. I will not cast stones at them because I know that I too have been sinful, and beg God for forgiveness.

Interesting blind guess about what will happen after death.

But I did not ask you that.

I pray that you continue your reading and come to the same conclusion.

Thank you for your prayers.

Now...back to my questions:

Are you actually saying that gays should be treated the way the god of the Bible suggests?

Really?

I mean, truly?

Stone them to death because that is what your god wants?

And to show you I am not being "thick headed"...allow me to give you some hints about what your answers should be.

For question number one: No, Frank, I am not saying that, because the way my god wants them treated is that of a savage barbarian.

For questions number two and three: As I said, Frank...the way my god wants them treated is that of a savage barbarian. I do not advocate for that.

For question number four: No I do not want them stoned to death. Actually, I have been full of shit with everything I have been saying on this issue, Frank. Please forgive me as I would forgive you.

Okay...you are up.

You should fret more about the punishment the fags will receive after they die. Why aren't you concerned about that?

Yes. Polygamy is illegal in the US. The 'State' has made a Law. Many instances in the Past (and the Bible) of polygamy.
I don’t believe it should be illegal, I believe if people want to practice it, they should be allowed. I would never practice it, but I don’t feel we have a right to restrict others.

When I used the word State, I was referring to the 50 entities to which the Constitution gave the authority to regulate marriage.

The answer to your question of why is the government involved is answered by the 10th amendment.

My question is: Why is the 'State' involved in 'Marriage'? If it's a 'contractual affair', why do I need a License or Permit?

You reject other humans for being different, to me that isn’t love.

I don't reject them,I support the Supreme Court decision that gay marriage is legal, that's my secular views too.
But my religious view is different,I have no problem with any church that does gay marriage,I won't be a member.
My religious view is Marriage is one man and one woman becoming one.

Wonder how long before not only will churches be FORCED to perform sodomite marriages, but Liberals start accepting the NAMBLA crowd clamoring for their special "rights"?

OK. Not to get off the 'marriage' topic here, but I can see multiple groupings in the Future, whether it's a successful male with a few females or a female with a few males.

Because the Constitution gives them the ability to do so if they choose to do so.

Do you know the difference between the term delegated powers used in Article I, Section 8 and reserved powers used in the 10th amendment?

Are you saying the state should stay out of all contractual affairs in any way?

I have that same view,in the old testament there was polygamy.
Jesus appeared by his words to feel marriage was a transformation of one man and one woman into one that only God or Death could separate.

Don't think there aren't groups today using tactics to where a court ruling will make it where churches have to do so.
