For those who haven't yet...

I haven't really weighed in on this subject as of yet. But I am leaning towards stepping back a little and seeing how the cards fall.

On one hand, I really hate to see barbaric chemical weapons used on innocents....but OTOH, I dislike the idea of opening yet another can of worms over there.

I wish that, as an ordinary civilian, we had access to some real intelligence that would sway me towards one side or another.

Obama was warned more than once that the rebels in Syria have chemical weapons, but he kept those warnings secret and kept focusing on the Syrian government.

Why?

How about this; 5:38-42 The plain instruction is, Suffer any injury that can be borne, for the sake of peace, committing your concerns to the Lord's keeping. And the sum of all is, that Christians must avoid disputing and striving. If any say, Flesh and blood cannot pass by such an affront, let them remember, that flesh and blood shall not inherit the kingdom of God; and those who act upon right principles will have most peace and comfort.

That May be true, sock....but most intelligence I've seen points to Assad....I'm not saying you're wrong...but I am certainly not saying you're right either.

What book?....you named chapter and verse...but not the book.

Why didn't O-BOMB-YA and Cap'n Swiftboat tell anyone they were warned more than once that the rebels have chemical weapons?

So Superhypocrate, let me walk you through it...

Where were you on the invasion of Iraq?

That's exactly why I don't chummy up with people like SF, Annie, Nova, and to some degree Damo. Damo is the onlye one of those who was against the IRaq war, but damn, he never really talked it up much. I mean, you would not see him posting the things about bush that he is posting about Obama right now. But I admit he never said he supported the war.

The others all did. And in fact, I personally had some pretty divisive fights with SF over civilian causalities and he assured me that our air force was very precise and there were very few of those.

There are some liberals who will chummy up with the right during times like these. But I'm not one of them. I know them. I see right through them. And their horseshit doesn't sell with me.

It seems to me that many Conservatives would prefer to give President Obama a legislative defeat than to do what THEY would otherwise believe to be in the country's best interest on the international stage.

While I am sure many of you already have, for those who haven't contacted your Rep and Senators, the above links will get you there. Let them know how you feel on Syria. I am sure the war mongering Desh will tell them to go ahead with the bombing of brown children, but for the more sane among us, let them know to vote NO to Obama's further adventures in the middle east.

Did you vote for Obama? Do you vote Democrat?

There is profound irony here for brain dead leftists who vote for Democrats. Most of our most devastating wars in modern history have occurred with Democrats in charge, not Conservatives.

Facts are not the forte of Liberal lemmings who have a historic reference that never goes beyond yesterdays headlines.

Damocles is generally one who is careful with his words while still portraying a message that is different. If someone is a conservative or fake libertarian he will not point out the same things he does about Liberals. He also leaves any discussion where he has made a mistake.

They Conservatives feel that they are the only ones who should be able to wage war, facts be dammed, if they want one they are entitled.

If a Conservative wants an unjustified war, you are un-American if you don't support it.

If a Liberal wants a justified attack, you are un-American if you support it.

He only voted for him the first time. Last time he voted Green party. At least he has principles!

I don't think you are comprehending what my position is.

I do not think we should do anything in Syria at this time. It is a civil war and we should not come in on either side. Assad is no friend to the US, neither is Al Queda. There is no imminent threat to the US. We should remain on the sideline.

Totally agree here. So why does Obama think this is an issue and that we should get involved yet he didn't believe we should have gone into Iraq?

You obviously didn't read any of my posts. I'm against getting involved in Syria (unless the Syrians want to give up their land and become a colony). But people rebelling against a tyrant are hardly terrorists.

The rebels forces best soldiers are Al Qaeda; are you saying Al Qaeda is not a terrorist organization?
