The Almighty
good post .

The people should always be allowed to decide.

If they truly don't want this action then its their right to say so.

I hope we do take these weapons delivery system out so NO one can own it.

It wont be the end of the world if we don't.

It will sadly be the end of the world for SOME people.

I was hoping fewer would die by removing their killing ability but the world will do what it will do.

While I am sure many of you already have, for those who haven't contacted your Rep and Senators, the above links will get you there. Let them know how you feel on Syria. I am sure the war mongering Desh will tell them to go ahead with the bombing of brown children, but for the more sane among us, let them know to vote NO to Obama's further adventures in the middle east.

I like the part of the post about contacting the representatives; but didn't like the slam on Desh, so didn't thank it.

Just realize there are consequences either way - and that's what makes this so tough. NOT responding will have implications for Israel and for Iran. If we don't respond to Assad, will Iran conclude it's fine to go ahead and build a nuclear bomb? Will Israel think we won't defend them, so they will do a pre-emptive strike on both Syria and Iran?

I think we have to be very careful in what we do, and consider all the factors.

Finally! You're now taking the only reasonable position you can take on this war issue. Now just stop your bullshit about the socalled delivery system because it never was the issue and you know it.

Well Russia gave Obama a way out while saving face, if he wants to take it. However, it looks to me from the off the record statements as if he, or this administration, or someone, doesn't want a way out. This whole thing is making me more and more suspicious.

what will it gain the US or the world if this system is left intact for someone to win as a spoil of war?

there will be factions going into the fray just to win these weapons

DEAR FUCKING IDIOT,

people will DIE if we leave this system intact.

their DEATHS will be the fault of people like you

Neither of those countries are America, so no, no response has no implications for us. If Iran and Israel want to blow each other up, let them have at it.

some just don't care if the world continues killing each other in large numbers.

Those people are not the ones we should be calling leaders

Terrorists will certainly die because Assad is not going to give up the fight and he's not going to be forced to either by the looks of it. But the people won't die from poison gas.

I don't see how that could be my fault or the fault of people who want to prevent a US led war. No more than it's my fault that many more people in the ME will die under US bombs.

Settle down and come back to earth before all the righties get into mocking you for you lack of a position. And face it, I'm the only ally you really have when you choosed to take an honest position.

The White House asserted Sunday that a "common-sense test" dictates the Syrian government is responsible for a chemical weapons attack that President Barack Obama says demands a U.S. military response. But Obama's top aide says the administration lacks "irrefutable, beyond-a-reasonable-doubt evidence" that skeptical Americans, including lawmakers who will start voting on military action this week, are seeking.

"This is not a court of law. And intelligence does not work that way," White House chief of staff Denis McDonough said during his five-network public relations blitz Sunday to build support for limited strikes against Syrian President Bashar Assad.

"The common-sense test says he is responsible for this. He should be held to account," McDonough said of the Syrian leader who for two years has resisted calls from inside and outside his country to step down.

Fair enough on the first sentence.

As for Iran, they are already trying to build a nuclear bomb. This is not going to change regardless of what we do in Syria. Nor will it affect Israel. This is a civil war. Not Syria bombing an ally. Israel, Iran and Syria all know we are going to defend Israel.

There is no benefit that I can see in simply trying to lob a few bombs. It seems like an inconsequential wrist slap that will most likely do more harm to civilians than to Assad's military capabilities.

Which country has been responsible for the most wars by far and which country has killed far more than any other country in the last 69 years since WW2?

How can you make the facts lie now?

But you only say that because you have bought into the lies that try to downplay the intended scale of the proposed war. You should understand that the justification would be immediately manufactured for a more full scale war. So simple really because as soon as Syria struck back with some success against US bombers it would surely escalate. And the American people would immediately be 100% behind it.
