For those who haven't yet...

what will it gain the US or the world if this system is left intact for someone to win as a spoil of war?

there will be factions going into the fray just to win these weapons

Desh, I think you are confused as to what the delivery system IS.

Your above comments combined with your previous make it appear that you think it is this massive complex that stands alone that can easily be taken out without civilian casualties.

The delivery systems are small and mobile. They can be placed anywhere and they can be replicated with ease.

Now if we know where the actual chemicals are, we could strike that, but what damage would that do?

But you only say that because you have bought into the lies that try to downplay the intended scale of the proposed war. You should understand that the justification would be immediately manufactured for a more full scale war. So simple really because as soon as Syria struck back with some success against US bombers it would surely escalate. And the American people would immediately be 100% behind it.

I don't think you are comprehending what my position is.

I do not think we should do anything in Syria at this time. It is a civil war and we should not come in on either side. Assad is no friend to the US, neither is Al Queda. There is no imminent threat to the US. We should remain on the sideline.

super duper ,

We KNOW where it is and have been watching for YEARS.

we can take a shit load of it OUT.

If we don't it will be a spoil of war for whomever wins.

there will be people coming into the fray JUST to get control of it.

being stupid for political points is still being stupid

The White House asserted Sunday that a "common-sense test" dictates the Syrian government is responsible for a chemical weapons attack that President Barack Obama says demands a U.S. military response. But Obama's top aide says the administration lacks "irrefutable, beyond-a-reasonable-doubt evidence" that skeptical Americans, including lawmakers who will start voting on military action this week, are seeking.

"This is not a court of law. And intelligence does not work that way," White House chief of staff Denis McDonough said during his five-network public relations blitz Sunday to build support for limited strikes against Syrian President Bashar Assad.

"The common-sense test says he is responsible for this. He should be held to account," McDonough said of the Syrian leader who for two years has resisted calls from inside and outside his country to step down.

That is actually comical. Because if we are going by what makes the most sense, it makes the most sense that it was the rebels that used the chem weapons right as the UN was prepping to come in.

Now it has nothing to do with your feigned concern of people being gassed. And there's nothing left to do now but mock you for your lack of truthfulness. All for political reasons.

While I am sure many of you already have, for those who haven't contacted your Rep and Senators, the above links will get you there. Let them know how you feel on Syria. I am sure the war mongering Desh will tell them to go ahead with the bombing of brown children, but for the more sane among us, let them know to vote NO to Obama's further adventures in the middle east.

I already did.

Good post!

The WH has admitted that it doesn't have proof beyond a reasonable doubt. What's left to justify their march to war now?

Things are looking good for a peaceful resolution to at least the US threats. Assad must fight on against the terrorists.

Think long and hard on your final comment. Because that is precisely what you are doing here.

You are spouting off propaganda of the same sort that Bush used.

Do you even know how the chem weapons are delivered?

Pick one.

Are we now supposed to accept US led wars for the cause of having a democratically elected government put in place? Will the American people be anymore supporting of that than a phony gas attack justification?

You obviously didn't read any of my posts. I'm against getting involved in Syria (unless the Syrians want to give up their land and become a colony). But people rebelling against a tyrant are hardly terrorists.

Prove its phony you idiot.

I'm not really interested in all the assorted US justifications for war. The fact you refer to the terrorists as something else tells me all I need to know about you. Why would you take yourself any more serious than that?

why would you WANT any of the factions to retain these weapons?

Because your such a fucking idiot you think nuclear proliferation is smart.

After the Iraq experience, all US initiatives for war smell phony. And that is why the American people have come down against it. At least the honest ones but that doesn't include the Obama haters who are against war because it's Obama's.

If the Obama/Putin initiative of convincing the Syrians to hand over their chem weapons turns out to be a success then you will begin to hear a lot more from the right because they aren't going to be denied their war so easily.

But how will they be able to continue to object to Obama??

Nice eh!

Because your such a fucking idiot you think nuclear proliferation is smart.

Because I know that in truth there is no nuclear armed nation that is going to give up their weapons. There will only be phony initiatives by the large nuclear armed countries to give up 'some' of it's weapons. Syria will only need a few and nowhere near as many as the US or Russia in order to protect itself.

Well, I suppose a fascist such as yourself would fear democracy and/or republicanism.
