Florida principal fired after display of Statute of David.

I read most of it by the time I was in h.s., so yes, I suppose I was. Thanks for your observation.
It or them? Sure you did you had to look for more naked pic.

My HS biology class had a set of medical encyclopedias complete with lots of photos of very disturbing cases of VD. There were photos of genital warts the size of cauliflowers. Some of the HS golf team bragged about visiting the "entertainment" in Nuevo Laredo Mexico after a golf tournament in Laredo Texas. Our biology teacher heard and made the entire class write a two page report on VD from the medical encyclopedias. After that no one bragged about visiting the night life. And no I wasn't on the golf team.

Apparently there was a fuckup somewhere and the parents didn't get the letter. The principal apparently took responsibility.

It still begs the question... Why would parents go apeshit over a statue? The kids have seen artworks and statues of nude humans.

The kids see their own genitalia every single day. Nothing new about seeing it on a statue.

Warped you for life, didn't it? lol

The last time we went to the Art Museum in St. Louis, they had a display of African art. One piece was a bare-breasted woman cupping her breasts and lifting them out as an offering. The plaque said that it was a depiction of hospitality, as symbolically she was offering her milk to her guests. There was a field trip of young to mid teenagers there, giggling at it. But no one quickly tossed a jacket over the exhibit. pEarl would have swooned in horror. :rofl2:

Remember this?

The Justice Department has spent $8,000 on blue drapes to hide two giant partially nude statues in the Great Hall of the agency’s headquarters, spokesman Shane Hix said Monday.

Michelangelo's statue of David is appropriate for adults but not children.

The naked statue turns on the ambulance chaser.

Yeah, I guess in your mind...and in the minds of all the mentally disadvantaged, it is wrong for children to discover that men have dicks.

I feel sorry for the students in schools in Florida, because they are not being taught critical thinking?!!

Critical thinking is the analysis of available facts, evidence, observations, and arguments to form a judgment. The subject is complex; several different definitions exist, which generally include the rational, skeptical, and unbiased analysis or evaluation of factual evidence. Wikipedia

In an odd way that is true, since I'm not 80... or 70, yet. lol

Why did you bring homosexuals into this conversation, pEarl? The word "penis" triggered you again? :rofl2:[/QUOTE

You brought it up.

“Peincipal" looks a lot like penis. How very Freudian, pEarl. Thanks for illustrating where your desires lie.”

Where your desires lie...an ad hom...too funny,

I like the way my English Comp II prof taught it. She put us in groups of four. We had to find and analyze an advertisement, then write papers about it and present it to the rest of the class. It could be for anything -- a car, an upcoming basketball game, shoes, whatever. We were supposed to analyze the use of color and object placement in the ad, as well as wording and typeface and perceived "mood" the ad tried to convey. It was a subtle way of learning that even something as innocent as an appeal for donations to a cause is carefully constructed to influence the viewer and produce an outcome beneficial to the ad's sponsor. You could easily see how the same things are done with political speech, ads, appeals. One of our h.s. history teachers taught critical thinking by using political ads in a similar way.

Therefore the Reichwingers will pass a law forbidding this to be taught in public schools.

Read the article rather than guess...

Exactly...but that would actually make sense.. and prove that it was much more than this complaining about the Statue... she just wasn't the right fit for the school... they don't seem to be doing too well there so it's no surprise that they're looking for new staff all the time...
