Florida principal fired after Students are shown a photo of Michelangelo's statue of David.
From the story: said:The now-former principal, Hope Carrasquilla, told HuffPost the situation was also “a little more complicated than that,” noting that the usual protocol is to send parents a letter before students are shown such classical artwork.
Due to “a series of miscommunications,” the letter did not go out to the sixth-grade parents, and some complained, Carrasquilla said.
So, protocol was not followed. Interesting that even the Principal noted that this wasn't all there was to your story. Also interesting that this was a charter school specifically founded to avoid this kind of thing. Also not mentioned in your OP.
