Federal Workers Filing For Government Unemployment Compensation Benefits.

Every worker is dependent upon his employer to uphold the deal which was made.

I have worked for two companies that closed. I lost two weeks pay from one, and vacation time from the other. I would NEVER depend on an employer. Both times, I just got another job, and I put my losses behind. Life goes on. Do you have any idea how many people have lost their job and had to move on? Federal workers aren't really that special, they can EASILY get jobs elsewhere. There are more jobs than workers, so there is no excuse for unemployment or welfare for workers. If they scam some unemployment, it won't last long.

A government job should never have any doubt of job security as long as the job is being performed properly.

This mentality is one of the reasons why I am so grateful for the shut down. They need to know that their jobs are always at risk, and that taxpayers do not want their hard earned tax dollars wasted on federal workers who take their jobs for granted. I have never loved Chuck and Nancy like I do now, and I hope they keep the government shut down for a LONG time. At least long enough for workers to not take their jobs for granted.

so America doesn't need a federal government?

and so the fuck what if you don't like Chuck and Nancy?

you don't like Ryan and McConnell either?

I am sure that corporate execs will travel on busses or trains, especially internationally. You are an idiot

Columbus sailed here hundreds of years ago. No airports, no tsa, no food inspectors, no cell phones, no cars, no busses. Life goes on.

Your kind enjoys living in the past. Today the airlines are crucial to business, and slowly but surely the TSA agents aren’t showing up for work

This is inane. Imagine those people who used to be paid by city governments to scoop up horse poo in the streets... still out there, walking around with shovels... because clearly they are doing it right, there's no horse poo!

You can't make this crazy stuff up! This is why I will never vote for a lefty.

Nice cherry picking.

Context would indicate that we are talking about PEOPLE WHO HAVE A JOB.

Because they HAVE JOBS they are entitled to the income of their pay or unemployment compensation.

Leave it to you to take one sentence out of context and blow it up into some kind of liberal/conservative thing.

It has nothing to do with that. These people have been working jobs and they are entitled to their pay or unemployment compensation. That's a fact, not a political argument.

My comment applies to your context.

Hello Evmetro,

Here's what I get. Tell me if I'm wrong: You just want to destroy any part of government you can, any way possible, because you hate all government, only begrudgingly acknowledge that we actually need one, wish it to be as small as possible. What I don't get is why you hate government. Our Constitution says we are supposed to have one.

We make our own government in the USA. Instead of detesting government and trying to keep it as small as possible, we should create a government we can be happy with, one we can be proud of, one that works for us, one that helps us have better lives. We pool our resources in this way. Instead of being 300 million + individuals fending for ourselves, we are united by our government and we all benefit from the combined strength of it. The more powerful our government is, the more powerful our nation is. We can use that power for good, you know.

Why do you think that because a job is more secure that workers are taking it for granted?

Sounds like an assumption to me.
