Was it me?
Then why do you fucking care?
do you own a gun?
Then why do you fucking care?
Right, but what happens if they find it, because 200,000 people just like you think you are hiding your weapons, but you're not.
What happens if they find your gun before you can get to it?
Dogs are not smart animals, and they can be easily tricked and distracted.
So what happens if the thief cases your joint, manages to incapacitate your dogs (by poisoning treats, or just gives them treats), and then steals your gun?
Because that scenario is more likely than the scenario of your dogs alerting you to an intruder, then you fumble in the dark with your weapon, before managing to (somehow) incapacitate the intruder.
No it's not because that "intruder" could be a friend or relative that you've accidentally mistook for an intruder, and shot them dead or wounded them.
Particularly if you are awaken from a deep sleep in the middle of the night by this, so your mental faculties aren't exactly there.
And if you've been drinking the evening before, or taken a prescription sleeping med, then your judgment is all cloudy.
Like I said, you are far more likely to harm yourself or others with a gun than you will ever use that gun in self-defense.
do you own a gun?
No, because I'm not an idiot.
I have explained to you, before they get in the door or window my dogs will alert me! I will have weapon in hand!
You can't bribe them until inside, I will long before they get in to bribe them! My security system will also notify police when they break in!
A friend, or relative wouldn't break in, none of mine anyway.
so if I was an idiot and owned a gun, I would be allowed to have an opinion?
you only trust idiots, ergo, why you're an idiot...
No. Your opinion means nothing to me.
Not sure what trust I placed in idiots.
You can't control any of that, and let's say the thief cased your house before hand and was prepared with snausages filled with sleeping pills for your dog, so the thief rendered your first line of defense completely moot.
Let's also say that the thief breaks into your house when you're not even there.
Most break-ins occur while the owner isn't even home.
So how do your guns protect against that scenario, and how aren't they just another item for a thief to steal? Because when they break into your house, one of the things they're looking for is a gun.
And let's also say that they're breaking in at 3:00AM, after you've been asleep for 5 hours, probably after drinking a bit the night before OR taking some kind of medication...jolted awake at 3:00AM, you're not going to have your best judgment. So what you think might be a burgular might actually be a friend or family member that you just shot and killed because you mistook them for a burgular.
THAT is more likely to happen to you than you will ever use the gun in self defense against an actual thief like some Hollywood murder fantasy.
So then it doesn't sound like you need a gun at all.
You have a security system, dogs, and (I assume) strong locks.
So you don't need a gun.
How did he get in the house to give the snausages?
If he breaks in when I am not home, and he finds it, shiiite happens, does not make him less a criminal, or less a law abiding citizen!
So no you want to empower the criminal
Friends and family members won't break in!
Now for the finale the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with limiting citizens rights to have a weapon, it restricts Government infringing!
You believe criminals can get through all of that!
He found a way. They always do.
What if he takes that gun and sells it to someone who uses it against you?
You're empowering the criminal by providing that criminal with a steady supply of guns to steal, and then shrugging your shoulders when they do.
The #1 supplier of guns to criminals are "responsible gun owners" who either lose their guns, or have them stolen.
"Shiiiite happens"
That's what you think, but your "thinking" is usually wrong.
If he uses it against me? You assume I don't get another one!
So disarming citizens will keep criminals from getting guns, because then they won't have any?
Look it up the 2nd restricts Government overreach, which any infringement is, and no I am not usually wrong!
Right, so if they can get through all that, isn't it possible they could also steal your gun, like they do to 200,000 people just like you every year?
What happens if the gun they stole from you was sold to someone who then uses that gun against you?
