ERPO mandates pre-screenings for mental health? Sure...but only if someone takes the action to do it.
If no one takes the action, like in CO, then what?
so it mandates it.

And call bruce jenner "he" and you'll end up serving 40 years or until you get your mind right.
so it mandates it.
The FBI knew in advance the Pulse Nightclub shooter (Omar Mateen) and were tipped off by the local sheriff.
You actually typed that. Amazing how badly reds will lie.
I never said it wasn't. What I said was that you were more likely than not to harm yourself or others with a gun than ever use the gun in self-defense.
According to the CDC, 35% of all gun deaths are either homicide or self-defense. So that leaves 65% for everything else.
They don't, but they're certainly going to look for it.
I have dogs too, but being a dog owner has opened my eyes as to how dogs are easily distracted because they're not smart animals.
Wait - so you do keep a loaded gun in your house. I don't think it matters if there's a round in the chamber or not.
What happens if the thief gets to your gun first?
Nothing says "freedom" like sleeping with a loaded weapon under your head because you're afraid of thieves.
A thief will look hard for my weapon, and I know exactly where it is!
My Dogs will let me know long before the intruder gets in, my dogs wake me when someone gets within 10 feet of my house
Dogs are not smart animals, and they can be easily tricked and distracted.
So what happens if the thief cases your joint, manages to incapacitate your dogs (by poisoning treats, or just gives them treats), and then steals your gun?
Because that scenario is more likely than the scenario of your dogs alerting you to an intruder, then you fumble in the dark with your weapon, before managing to (somehow) incapacitate the intruder.
it's best to have a gun in this scenario.
No it's not because that "intruder" could be a friend or relative that you've accidentally mistook for an intruder, and shot them dead or wounded them.
Particularly if you are awaken from a deep sleep in the middle of the night by this, so your mental faculties aren't exactly there.
And if you've been drinking the evening before, or taken a prescription sleeping med, then your judgment is all cloudy.
Like I said, you are far more likely to harm yourself or others with a gun than you will ever use that gun in self-defense.
there are cases where guns successfully defend people, shitbrain..
Well, I'm not so sure about that because I've never seen those statistics...all I've seen is that accidental deaths from guns make up about 5-10% of gun deaths each year, so about 1,500-3,000 people die from gun accidents every year, and about a third of them are kids.
so you have no data on how often guns are used successfully in self defense.
I do not have that data, because that data doesn't exist anywhere.
so you should stfu.
No, you should STFU since you're the one pretending you use your gun for self-defense, but have not been able to provide any self-defense statistics.
you have no self defense statistics
I don't even own a gun.
