Explosions Rip Through Catholic Churches: Islamic Radicals Claim Responsibility

And yet.. we have the pope who most definitely acts and has acted like a secular ruler, read the investiture conflict, constantine's will, the organization of crusades (not only into the ME but also in Europe). Kinda interesting how the christianity with no provision for a government has ended up with the theorcracy which has lasted longest.

Thats because Christian doctrine was written in Latin, read only by the clergy. Christianity was whatever the Catholic Church said was christian doctrine. The printing press, the spread of literacy and the translation and publication of bibles, and you get the protestant reformation. Using the text of the bible to end the scam the Catholic Church had run for so long. In colonial America the Bible was the #1 most widely read printed material in existance until Thomas Paine published "Common Sense" which displaced the bible from the #1 spot. He used Christian doctrine to demonstrate the illigitimacy of monarchies, ordained by the church with Gods authority to govern and for the first time established that gods authority to govern belonged to the individual. Government of by and for the people.

And the Islamic Caliphate spanned from 632 to 1924. Did Christianity have anything that long?

Kind of irrelevant to the topic of discussion.

Not at all.....

Dune made the claim in post 56...
Alias answered in post 70
I took issue with Dunes claim in post 83
The YOU chimed in with your mis-statement in post 94, which I pointed out in post 96

Looks to me to be part of the discussion for some time.....but then topics do evolve....

And whether he was a Christian or a born again christian is irrelevant to Dunes point

You are a moron aren't you? BushII was a born again christian. Gulf War II is no different than any of the crusades, christians invading muslim countries and killing muslims.

Fucking dumb lefties. Their indoctrinated minds can't accept the fact that Islam is the problem. They keep telling us they are progressives, then they spend their time and energy defending a tribal murderous cult from the dark ages.

I have seen no one here defending them.

Stop lying.

No, read the quotes provided from the koran. Al Qaeda adheres to a strict literal interpretation of that doctrine. Christianiy simply has no provision for christian government applying christian doctrine as law. Christianity states"My kingdom is not of this world", "render unto Ceasar, that which is ceasars" and "obey all authorities instituted among men"

Note that Al Quaida are religious extremists.

The Pope doesn't speak for all Christians. I didn't live during the Crusades. Besides, the Crusades were a Christian response to the Islamic murder going on in the ME and Europe, forcing Christians and others to convert or die.

There is no doctrine in Christianity teaching believers to murder nonbelievers if they will not convert. The Koran does.

No one said there was doctrine, the point is only that more murders have been commited by christians than any other sect.

Yes, the church of Rome has existed for 700 years longer.

Bush's lies are evidence of nothing, save your gullibility.
A christian leader invaded Iraq. That is a fact, there is no changing it.

So. A man with graying hair invaded Iraq. The invasion had as much to do with his gray hair, as it does his christianity. While Al Qaedas war against the US is stated as compliance with Islamic doctrine.

Praise be to God, who revealed the Book, controls the clouds, defeats factionalism, and says in His Book: "But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)"; and peace be upon our Prophet, Muhammad Bin-'Abdallah, who said: I have been sent with the sword between my hands to ensure that no one but God is worshipped, God who put my livelihood under the shadow of my spear and who inflicts humiliation and scorn on those who disobey my orders. ...
The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies -- civilians and military -- is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it, in order to liberate the al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy mosque [Mecca] from their grip, and in order for their armies to move out of all the lands of Islam, defeated and unable to threaten any Muslim. No, they are Islamic fundamentalist. It only seems extreme to you because you have no knowledge of what is written in the Koran

They are religious extremists period. Islam is a religion of peace as is Chrisitanity. Extremists from both have been murdering for eons.
Again, this is a fact, there is no changing it.
