I seriously doubt if Dixie is willing to accept historical facts that debunk his assertions...but hope springs eternal.

The USA is guilty of supporting Mubarak via military aid for 30 years.....but it's not the same as Iran, as you and I know.
Here is a bio of the Shah

He was not put into power by the US. He was put into power by the Britain and the USSR because of his father's support of Germany.

No, the CIA was the spearhead....British intelligence was mostly auxillary (ex., oil boycott). His father was of a marxist mindset, and his main supporting party was the Tudeh. So the USSR would NOT want his father thrown out of office.

I suggest you read the documents linked within the site I provide above...as they show CIA memos and such appropo to the events that occured.

Who put Ahmadinejad in power? What about the Hammas leader in Lebanon? Are those US/British puppets as well?

The mullahs are behind Amadinejad......which has NOTHING to do with how the Shah got into power. Hamas in Lebannon has Iranian backing/support, but they appoint their own leadership, which at times is at odds with each other.

There is nothing that can be done about it, the events will unfold regardless and to try to blame the current admin is just retarded. I also do not accept your doom and gloom scenario, the ultimate way forward is education and raising people up from the grinding poverty in many nations. Too many people in the US want a quick fix for everything, it just isn't going to happen that way. We discovered many years ago that gunboat diplomacy rarely if ever works.

Brilliant slogan for the Democrats '12 Campaign!

There Is Nothing That Can Be Done About It!

VOTE OBAMA!

God, and you wonder why so many people think you are a sandwich short of a picnic. This is one of the reasons why politicians lie so much, it's because so many cannot handle the truth.

Where's General Custer when you need him, oh forgot he was killed by some of Dixie's brethren.

Let's give it a chance? That's what we said in Iran when the Shah was toppled. Pinheads yammered about the chance for democracy... less than a month later, Khomeini stepped off the plane, and Iran was run by radical Islam. This is arguably what lead to all the rest of the radical fanaticism in the region. The further down the road of history we travel, the more convinced I become, that pinheads don't have the slightest clue what they're doing, and don't really care.

What's your solution Dixie?

Not what I am saying tom. But thanks for defending me anyway, I know that was hard to type.

I already know what the final outcome will be. A theocratic radical Islamic government in Egypt... the ultimate demise of Israel... Islamic Caliphate. Eventually.. within 30 years or so... it will mean the fall of Europe to radical Islam, and the implementation of Sharia law for everyone. By the time this happens, even those on the left will realize what kind of trouble we are in, but it will be far too late to do anything about it then. Perhaps we can cower behind the skirts of the Great Chinese Empire.. but that will come at a cost as well...

End Times... that's what is coming, tom. I realize YOU don't know what will happen, what will be the final outcome... but anyone who believes in the Bible chuckle at this... they know what is coming next, it is all written in vivid detail, in the 2000 year-old document they believe is the word of God.

Egyptians do not know how to implement a fair and impartial democratic election system and government. They've never done it, in all their national history, so why would they suddenly be able to do it? What they have is a sham, something to "call" a fair and impartial legitimate system. It is rife with corruption, cronyism, graft, and outright favoritism. The SYSTEM, the "powers that be" in Egypt, the Machine... Mubarak was 'democratically elected' in election after election... was it legit? When the Muslim Brotherhood "wins the election" will THAT be legit?

I have ZERO confidence in THIS administration, to lead the Egyptians to a real democratic representative 'Jacksonian'-style government. I don't even see them TRYING to lead anyone... they are sitting on their asses, waiting... trying to be all things to all people at all times... saying one stupid thing today, and another stupid thing tomorrow... let the clock run on this... maybe it will all work out. I don't even know who is in charge of this.. do we even know? Do we need to wait and see what China tells us is going on in Egypt, since we are not the #1 Superpower anymore?
:dunno:

Dixie, Dixie, Dixie. What are we going to do with you?

In msg 30 you wrote,
I believe that ANY man wants to be free!

WRONG!

Why do you think people join cults? They don't want to be free. They want someone to tell them what to do. Just like YOU, Dixie.

Yes, just like you. Let's look at what you wrote.
End Times... that's what is coming, tom. I realize YOU don't know what will happen, what will be the final outcome... but anyone who believes in the Bible chuckle at this... they know what is coming next, it is all written in vivid detail, in the 2000 year-old document they believe is the word of God.

So, if you believe in the Bible then you do not believe in freedom because the Bible instructs us to worship a God. Not only worship but offer sacrifices. Throw the occasional B-B-Q.

Now, there's nothing wrong with that if it floats your boat but by the same token it shows you are not a free man. You are obliged to worship some "thing". You have rules to live by and you are not permitted to question them because the rule-maker refuses to show himself/herself/itself.

Now, people may say one has the option of not going to church or not worshiping God but many people dread being ex-communicated from the church so it's not really a viable option.

For example, consider how many Catholics live together because the church will not marry them after divorce. They choose to live the life they do not want because they want to remain with the church.

Now, follow that reasoning to Islam. Yes, the people want to be free BUT they also want to be part of their "church" or religion. I'm sure a father does not want to kill his daughter because she did a little hanky-panky but that's the law or the rule. The difference between someone living together and being denied marriage or someone having to kill their daughter is the difference between their religion. They both make a choice.

So, when people vote in a religious leader supporting Sharia law that is what they want. The minority may not like it but, then again, the minority here doesn't like a lot of the laws. Even the people who vote for Sharia law may not like it when they are subjected to the laws, just like the couple the church refuses to marry, but the people still choose that way of life.

If we go on the reasonable assumption most Muslims know what Sharia law is then once they vote for it they are stuck with it. They can not vote for Sharia law one year and not the next and then vote again for Sharia law and then vote against it, and so on. A democratic vote, for them, will be a one shot deal.

In other words if a democratic vote instills a religious leader who believes in Sharia law and the rest of the Muslin dogma that will preclude any more democratic votes. Stated another way the people can hold a democratic vote to outlaw democratic voting.

If that is the case do we keep insisting on them having the right to vote? It appears that is your position because you say all men want to be free which means you are insisting on forcing a form of government on them which they do not want and you wouldn't want to impose your way of life on them, would you? :)

While it may be that Egypt ends up with a radical Iran like government, it is their choice. They may not 'understand' democracy as YOU want them to, but they do understand the power that the 'people' can wield. They just proved that with Mubarak. Will it get worse for them? We do not know.

As for Europe falling to radical Islam... here you are batshit crazy. No chance in hell that happens.

End Times... that's what is coming, tom. I realize YOU don't know what will happen, what will be the final outcome... but anyone who believes in the Bible chuckle at this... they know what is coming next, it is all written in vivid detail, in the 2000 year-old document they believe is the word of God.

ROFLMAO.... you have finally topped your idiocy with 1/3

Egyptians do not know how to implement a fair and impartial democratic election system and government. They've never done it, in all their national history, so why would they suddenly be able to do it?

Well gee golly Beaver, up until the US went democratic, we too had never done it before. The difference is that the Egyptians have access to this thing called the internet. They know what democracy is. They know how to implement it. YOU just don't like the fact that they may possibly CHOOSE to be led by a group that is anti-US.

Your arrogance is astounding. Our system is rife with corruption, cronyism and outright favoritism. So why do you bemoan the fact their system would be the same?

I have ZERO confidence in THIS administration, to lead the Egyptians to a real democratic representative 'Jacksonian'-style government. I don't even see them TRYING to lead anyone... they are sitting on their asses, waiting... trying to be all things to all people at all times... saying one stupid thing today, and another stupid thing tomorrow... let the clock run on this... maybe it will all work out. :dunno:

Note to ditzie. It is not up to Obama to 'lead' Egypt. It is up to Obama to lead the USA.

Obama is not perfect, nor is he a good leader in my opinion, but right now he has little choice but to sit on the sidelines. The more we witness in Egypt, the clearer that becomes. The bulk of the Egyptian people do not like/trust the US. The worst thing we could do is back a moderate right now. That would drive the Egyptian people towards the MB.

The best thing we could do is come out in full support of the MB. Total mind fuck. The Egyptian people would be like.... 'well fuck, if the US likes the MB, that can't be good for us. We'll go with El Baredi'

To all: the last paragraph was said 100% in sarcasm. I do not truly believe the Egyptian people are that naive.

God, and you wonder why so many people think you are a sandwich short of a picnic. This is one of the reasons why politicians lie so much, it's because so many cannot handle the truth.

He is short not only a sandwich.... he forgot the entire picnic basket, drinks, blanket etc... he is essentially sitting on an ant hill with his thumb up his ass mumbling how his picnic sucks because of Obama.

Dixie, I have two words for you. Wael Ghonim. This guy understands freedom and democracy. Ghonim works for Google in Egypt and this is what he said after he spent a couple of weeks in an Egyptian cell being beaten...uh being interrogated with enhanced interrogation methods:we are gonna (win), because we don't understand politics, because we don't understand their nasty games. We're gonna win because our tears comes from our hearts. "We're gonna win because we have a dream. We're gonna win because we're convinced that if anyone stands up in front of our dream, we're ready to die defending it." This is what democracy looks like. This is what liberty looks like. Liberty has NEVER looked like someone else coming into your country and taking it for you while you sit on the sidelines and wait to see what will happen. What I see you describe in Egypt is, IMO far more likely to occur in Iraq. The majority of the people that in government are Shi'ah. They follow the same types of Imams as they have in Iran. Back in October, Iran brokered an agreement between al-Maliki and Moqtada al-Sadr. The overthrow of Saddam Hussein is more likely to cause the formation of an Islamic state than the stepping down of Mubarak.

Wow - I missed "end times." And I thought Dixie wasn't a Christian?

What an insane response...

I'm not a Christian, I was merely pointing out what they believe, and how the prophecies for the end times in their religious text is being fulfilled with stunning accuracy. I tell ya, it's almost enough to make you believe!

You said it as a statement of fact. You said "end times...that's what's coming." You didn't say "that's what Christians say is coming."

And SF is right...I owe an apology to insane people everywhere....

"Some will even go so far as to say Obama was behind it all, and perhaps even a part of the Muslim Brotherhood"

Don't you mean that you will, and already are?

This was an entertaining post, Dix. Are we supposed to pine for a Prez like Bush, who would just invade, blow stuff up & be done w/ it all?

That's just standard RightWing Nazi tactic of planting a rumor. All Dix has to do is claim that "some people" will do or see something a certain way.

Watch Faux News...they do it every single day.
