You are the fuckwit that proposed a "democracy team". You brought up democracy. But now try to get back on point. The majority of the people involved in this action were NOT supporters of the Muslem Brotherhood. Only about 15% of the population support the MB. So how are they going to take over Egypt? Especially with the Egyptian military in charge?

No. All these states allow no limitation first cousin marriages. Alaska, Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Washington D.C.

North Carolina should also be there but they have ONE restriction, no double first cousin marriages. Ifin you don't know that means if Lula and Bobbie Jo, each have carnal knowledge of Billy Ray and Ricky Bobby, and each couple have a child, one boy and one girl, when those two grow up, they caint git hitched. Don't know why North Carolina bothered. Not like that is a very strong possibility.

I think the strangest part of this thread is that the cousin-marrying discussion is light years ahead of the discussion on Dixie's "democracy team" proposal as far as intelligence goes...

I used the term "democracy team" in quotation marks for a reason. Democracy can mean different things, and they aren't all good things. True REPRESENTATIVE democracy is what we want for Egypt, because that can eliminate elements like the MB and other radicals. As leaders of the free world, we should at least TRY to instill the ideals of Jeffersonian democracy. Otherwise, we will likely see "mob rule" in Egypt.

In a recent poll... 70% of Egyptians favored Sharia being made the law of the land. That number is a little disturbing to me, when we are talking about allowing these people to just form whatever kind of government they want.

You are the worst kind of American. You are so arrogant as to believe that we are ALLOWING THESE PEOPLE to form any kind of government at all. You are also so arrogant as to believe that ANY country is following our lead. Your blue jean boyfriends leader in Iraq is already cozying up to the al Sadr wing of the Shi'ah in Iraq. The Iranians brokered a deal between them. That is not what Rummy and Mortimer Snerd said was going to happen. You don't see that attempting to guide politics inside ME nations like Egypt will only lead to our alienation. The people of Egypt are Moslem. Of course they want Sharia law, just as much as we in America don't. Who the fuck are we to tell them they can't have it. The Constitution of Iraq recognized Sharia law as one source for Iraq's law and the lawyers sent over by Bush helped the Shi'ah establish it that way.

I don't see us doing a damn thing here. It appears we are asleep at the switch, or duplicitous in ushering the Muslim Brotherhood into power in Egypt. The last thing I have seen is "leadership" on our part. Yeah, I doubt anyone is "following our lead" since we ain't leadin'! All you seem to want to do, is bury your head in the sand, and let radical Islam have their little Caliphate....

What could possibly be the harm in that? Why shouldn't they be able to practice Sharia law there... and everywhere they want it implemented, for that matter? Who the fuck do we think we are, standing in opposition to 5th century barbarism, abhorrent civil and human rights atrocities toward women and children, and intolerance for ANYTHING outside of radical Islam! We should be ashamed to call ourselves Americans for opposing such a thing!
