Great story; but the question was, can one have a College degree, and not be educated?
receiving a legitimate college degree is prima facie evidence of someone having been educated.... does that mean that a degree holder is WELL educated? not necessarily.
The real question is; can one have a college degree and not be educated? Jarod believes they are TWO different things.
Evidence that I was typing on my phone while also talking on the office phone.
. Funny nobody agrees w you!I think it is further evidence that you are a dunce. Turning a dullard claim in one thread into a dullard claim on a new thread while not being able to communicate it coherently, are evidence of a dunce.
You prove my claim; a degree is evidence of an education, but not a substitute for intelligence.
Personally I believe one can have a college degree and not be educated AND one can be educated and not have a college degree.
low self esteemed individuals are fond of touting their education credentials. its the intellectual form of bullying.
So the answer is that having the degree is evidence of an education, therefore the two are not seperable. You cannot have a College degree and NOT be educated. Yes, you can still be ignorant, but you will be educated.
Jarod thinks they are two entirely different things.
. Funny nobody agrees w you!
education is not synonymous with intelligence or wisdom.
Buffet has 2Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Warren Buffet, Michael Dell to name a few, of course it depends on what you mean by well educated. I wonder if Jarod has heard of an autodidact?
Two left-wing ones - Harry Pollitt, Secretary of the Communist Party of Great Britain, whom I met when I was eight, and (I think) Tony Cliff of the Socialist Workers' Party (as I recollect, the British arrested him in Palestine before he could complete his finals). Either could have wiped out intellectually anyone posting here, including me.
I never met any of these guys, but none of them graduated from college:
George Washington (The death of his father ended Washington's formal schooling)
Andrew Jackson
Martin Van Buren
William Henry Harrison (attended college but never received a degree)
Zachary Taylor
Millard Fillmore (founded the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York)
Abraham Lincoln (had only about a year of formal schooling of any kind)
Andrew Johnson
Grover Cleveland
William McKinley (attended Allegheny College and Albany Law School but did not receive degrees)
Harry S. Truman (went to business college and law school but did not receive a degree)

Hell yes I have. Most skilled tradesmen I know are just as well educated and sometimes more so, than a person with a BA/BS degree.Has anyone here ever met a very well educated person without a degree? It that possible? Some don't think so!?!?!?!?
I'm struggling to comprehend if there is a coherent point to your question; is there?
Which one is Truth Detector?Personally I believe one can have a college degree and not be educated AND one can be educated and not have a college degree.
