Donetsk and Luhansk are now recognized independent states.

see?......being recognized does not make a state......

No- universal statehood must be approved by the United Nations which accepts member states. However, there's nothing to prevent unilateral declaration of statehood- and both Donetsk and Luhansk are already recognized by one of the Security Council's permanent members.

Let me be clear- I'm in this for the prevention of war and bloodshed. The Ukrainian rightist- militias have been shelling the Donbass for eight years- and Donbass has been fighting back. Now the threat of a NATO takeover of Ukraine- and the plying of Ukraine with NATO weaponry- has forced the Russians to defend the Donbass - diplomatically at first- which should serve as a warning to the extremists to quit their attacks.
That's where we're at. They either quit voluntarily or the Russians will step in. NATO should cease arming them and persuade them to quit.

Nobody's buying that bullshit!!

No force involved, ,monkey. Entire populations are exploding fireworks with glee.

You can quit being a moron now- your assault was blunt from the outset.

Your failure is noted. I will let you swim in your hypocrisy.

(also your support for an Authoritarian Government)

Donetsk and Luhansk

According to the self-determination and democratic wishes of their POPULATIONS, Donetsk and Luhansk are now recognized independent states.

They've been self-recognized for some years , of course.

How does the self-determination of these states affect us ? It doesn't. Not at all. Anybody telling us that it does is lying. Besides, we actively oppose self-determination in the Middle East and thousands of us have died opposing it. We actually pay many states to suppress self-determination in their populations and we scorn international law in order to support the fascists' occupation of Palestine. We are, in fact, super-hypocrites .

Let's remember that the legitimate government of Ukraine was overthrown by means of a pro-NATO coup in which many Ukranians died. Donetsk and Luhansk are the strongholds of those Ukranians who opposed the coup. As such they are the defenders of Ukranian democracy, not the puppet government that went to the polls without them.

So let's wish them good fortune in their new-found independence and urge the anti-Russian Ukranians to leave them in peace, accept that their pro-NATO ambitions have split and diminished their real-estate- as was repeatedly predicted- and not let their infidelity drag us into any violent conflict.

Biden has succeeded in having Nord Stream 2 terminated- for now. Leave it at that.

Link to them declaring themselves independent of the Ukraine

That means this annexation was Russian aggression.

There hasn't been any annexation. Both Donetsk and Luhansk are self-proclaimed Republics.
They broke away after their legitimate Ukrainian government was overthrown by a coup. Coups are undemocratic , in case there's anybody reading dumb enough not to know.
