"Democrats look to make Marjorie Taylor Greene the face of GOP"

Hello archives,

"Democrats seizing on a string of controversies surrounding Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) hope to make her the face of the GOP in the 2022 midterms."

"Democrats think the controversies surrounding Greene and a few other Republicans, from fellow first-term Rep. Lauren Boebert (Colo.) to Arizona firebrand Reps. Andy Biggs (Ariz.) and Paul Gosar (Ariz.), could make the GOP toxic with the suburban voters who increasingly have turned away from Republicans in the Trump era."

"House Democrats are looking to force a vote on Greene’s expulsion, which would force Republicans to take a position on her."

"Former President Trump, still the de facto leader of the GOP, has been adding fuel to the fire, calling Greene last week to encourage her and setting up a meeting with her later this week. Trump never condemned QAnon, part of his long-running refusal to condemn his extremist supporters."

"Republican leaders know they have a problem."

AOC and the others may be an easy sell with the right base, but doesn't compare to supporting a Congresswomen who echoes OAnon conspiracies and thinks the Pentagon wasn't hit by a airplane on 9/11 and questions school shootings, it certainly ain't going to go over big with moderates, swing voters, women and suburbanites who Trump costs the GOP in 2020

Can bet there are going to be a lot of GOP Congressmen and Senators who are going to do their best to make sure they don't ever appear in any photos or videos with Representative Greene

From the OP link:

"McCarthy is also scheduled to meet with Greene this week as calls grow for him to strip her ... "

WHAT???

" ... of her committee assignments."

Oh, OK. Whew. I'm glad we cleared THAT up.

MTG was legitimately elected by constituents in an actual congressional district.
Think about that for a minute, and then tell me that we all belong in the same country.
Let's just decide which red states will be the new Republican Reservation and get the herding over with.

By the time we're done, AOC will be thirty-five and we can make her President of the New, Improved America.

Mainly agree. There is zero comparison between AOC and MTG. AOC's views are consistent w/ the left-wing of the party, and certainly to the left of most Americans - but they're just political views. MTG's views, at least some of them, are detached from reality.

I don't think it's accurate to make AOC the face of the party. She's the face of one aspect of the party - but not the mainstream of the party.

MGT is more accurately the face of the GOP, at least for now. Trump is aligned with her, and as long as it's Trump's party, that's part of the baggage.

IMHO trump & the tumpettes did their best to try & sell that but no one really believed it but them, & then only because they were told to...

Trying to sell a freshman/women as the leader of the party was a real hard sell, one only a cultist would buy into, & lord knows there is no shortage of UM!!!

'Communism' has died. 'Global Capitalism' is what the World has embraced.

"World Trade Organization

The World Trade Organization is an intergovernmental organization that is concerned with the regulation of international trade between nations. The WTO officially commenced on 1 January 1995 under the Marrakesh Agreement, signed by 123 nations on 15 April 1994, replacing the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, which commenced in 1948.Wikipedia"

???What do you refer to the Chinese communist party as?? Communist Party of Vietnam?? The Lao People's Revolutionary Party???

???What do you refer to the Chinese communist party as?? Communist Party of Vietnam?? The Lao People's Revolutionary Party???

I don't know. What would you refer Kim Jong-un? 'Communist' or 'Feudal King'?
How about Mohammad bin Salman ... 'Communist' or 'Feudal King'?
Vladimir Putin ... 'Communist' or 'Feudal King'?

"China has gone a long way to becoming a market – capitalist – economy. It has opened up to foreign investment (much more than, say, India). Its firms compete internationally and invest overseas. Some Chinese entrepreneurs like Jack Ma have global recognition. Day to day economic life operates through markets and farmers have greater (but not complete) ownership rights. There is a sophisticated stock exchange and capital markets."

"So, after the enormous economic and social changes he unleashed can we best describe China as a Communist country with a veneer of market economics or is it a capitalist country with a nominally Communist government? Perhaps it is both: ‘state capitalism’ with a framework of Communist party rule. Deng himself was pragmatic: ‘What does it matter what is the color of the cat provided it catches mice’. He was also a gradualist – ‘crossing the river by feeling for the stones’ – interested in results rather than dogma or doctrine."

Jack Ma is a great example of how they are nothing like Western capitalism..

They allowed Jack, a party member in good standing, well until recently, to use his genius & copy a chinese version of Amazon while putting many obstacles in front of Amazon & other American companies..

Good O' Jack got out of line, I guess he was feeling his oats as they say & criticized the party.. That is intolerable, especially for someone of his status, which the party believes is all a result of their benevolence..

Well it came as no surprise Jack suddenly decided to retire & went missing for a while........

Imagine an asshole capitalist in this country getting a nice drive out in the country w/ a car full of government thugs looking to reeducate your ass.....

One of the primary difference is simply that, the party is supreme, corporations, judges/law, citizens etc are all UNDER that umbrella..

In the USA corporations are above the government, & the ppl under the government........

I agree with your assessment.

I view the Political system differently than the Economic system.
The Political system is a 'One Party', authoritarian government that has complete control over the population.
I would view this system like the system in Saudi Arabia, or North Korea, or Russia.

The Economic system of China (and the World) has transitioned into a Capitalist or Market-based system. Even Saudi Arabia is considering selling Shares in it's State-owned Oil Company.

"Saudi Aramco has officially listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange"

Thomas Friedman wrote a Book some years ago that spelled this out in detail.

"The World Is Flat
The World Is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century is an international best-selling book by Thomas L. Friedman that analyzes globalization, primarily in the early 21st century. The title is a metaphor for viewing the world as a level playing field in terms of commerce, wherein all competitors, except for labor, have an equal opportunity.Wikipedia"

China is going for 'China First' with sights on replacing the US as 'World Leader'. In my opinion, it's a matter of which Political system prevails in the Future.

Michael Pillsbury wrote a Book on this that spells it out quite clearly:

"CHINA’S SECRET STRATEGY TO REPLACE AMERICA AS THE GLOBAL SUPERPOWER."
https://thehundredyearmarathon.com/

"For more than forty years, the United States has played an indispensable role helping the Chinese government build a booming economy, develop its scientific and military capabilities, and take its place on the world stage, in the belief that China’s rise will bring us cooperation, diplomacy, and free trade. But what if the “China Dream” is to replace us, just as America replaced the British Empire, without firing a shot?"

'The 100 Year Marathon'.

she does have a certain appeal to that section of the demmycrats that want to embrace communism.......a growing segment of the left......

Really?

The only person that embraced communism is the orange, commie, insurrectionist.

U.S. President Donald Trump praised Chinese President Xi Jinping Saturday after the ruling Communist party announced it was eliminating the two-term limit for the presidency, paving the way for Xi to serve indefinitely.

“He’s now president for life, president for life. And he’s great,” Trump said, according to audio of excerpts of Trump’s remarks at a closed-door fundraiser in Florida.
“And look, he was able to do that. I think it’s great. Maybe we’ll have to give that a shot someday,” Trump said to cheers and applause from supporters.

“Vietnam is thriving like few places on earth,” Trump tweeted Wednesday. “North Korea would be the same, and very quickly, if it would denuclearize. The potential is AWESOME, a great opportunity, like almost none other in history, for my friend Kim Jong Un.”

Dotard finally made to Vietnam and likes it, 50 years ago? Not so much.

she is the face of the GOP right now, lying moron. the incredible lack of info, the incredible stupidity and paranoia to believe crazy ass conspiracy theories about jewish laser beams, baby eaters, no 9/11 attack, fake shootings at schools to make gun nuts look bad, and somehow believing that crazy ass rigged voting bullshit.

Correct.

Greene is a reflection of the current GOP.

Fair's fair. For some odd reason the conservatards have been trying to make AOC out to be the top (D) for a couple of years now.
